I hate how prevalent AI has gotten. There was a news report months ago about how people used ai therapists and had ai “girlfriends” and stuff.
Ai therapists are really dangerous. Therapy is supposed to help you process things, come to terms with things and give you tools to overcome that and heal. Sometimes that includes hearing things you don’t want to hear.
AI just regurgitates what you say and puts out something you’ll like. How the hell does that help? And of course people make money off of it.
Speaking about AI, some dude in one of my classes just copy pasted their whole ai generated assignment and didn’t even remove the “I’m a ai chatbot” stuff. Bro

Speaking of AI, we all know it is not 100% trustable, just like Wikipedia… there is a reason why teachers don’t let us research stuff from Wikipedia.
But many students at my school use AI to quickly generate stuff they need for assignments and one of my teachers encourages us to research by asking ChatGPT. Because I believe that AI cannot be fully trusted I instead took a bit more time and searched through the internet.
I think AI shouldn’t be used in research, especially when the user is a student and it is for an assignment. The user gets lazy and may receive incorrect information, resulting in an incorrect assignment and incorrect knowledge about a subject. That incorrect piece of information could stay in their brain, which is not good.

The only major use I have for AI is helping in draw up some very very basic ideas for what I can do for my fictional nations. It’s particularly helpful in conlanging for me, as for Szurenese I have to go off of both Spanish and Portuguese, which are somewhat similar but have their own unique rules which can make it difficult to choose which language as a base for what part of the conlang. Using AI (or moreso ChatGPT), it made it much easier to get this done (as well as do some basic translations, which I then fact-checked afterward to make sure it was accurate) because it does pretty well with comparisons from my experience. Still a lot of work to do, regardless, on my end.
