The Emeraldian Ministry of Defence has confirmed that 37 Service Members in Krauanagaz have died due to the Southern Cordilia Heatwave, with 7 of these deaths the result of a Helicopter Crash while assisting KFEMA Efforts, according to investigators, the Helicopter’s Electric’s had partially fried in the intense heat and humidity, alongside the general degradation of other vital components, chief among these being the melting of a vital coolant line, which combined with faulty electronics, meant that the Pilot and Copilot were entirely unaware of their Helicopter’s overheated engine. Another Helicopter of the same Regiment was flying alongside the doomed Helo and thus had the unfortunate role of viewing the demise of their fellow ESH-20. According the pilot of the other Helicopter, he personally saw the other helicopter’s engine suddenly give out, plunging the vehicle into the ground with all 4 of it’s crew and the 3 Medic’s onboard. Their remains were very quickly recovered a short time later. The Helicopter Involved belonged to the 26th Cavalry Regiment, while the 3 Medic’s were apart of the 21st Medical Brigade.
All 37 Deceased Service Members are to be buried with full Military Honors at either the Royal Military Cemetery in Starton, or another specified Cemetery per either last wishes or wishes of Next of Kin. Joining the 37 Deceased Active Duty personnel are 9 Deceased KCW Veterans who had moved to Krauanagaz, among that number including two Royal Medal of Honor Recipients.
At the wishes of the Family of the deceased, all have thus far remained anonymous and their names not released to the General Public.
