Tensions Boil Over: Diplomatic Rift Between Zuhlgan and Izaakia Deepens Amid Okhoa Crisis

Varekko, Okhoa— Diplomatic relations between the Holy Dominion of Zuhlgan and the United States of Izaakia (USI) have deteriorated sharply in recent days following Zuhlgan’s deployment of additional military forces to Okhoa and its direct accusation that Izaakia is arming militant groups in the protectorate. The escalating dispute, centered around the worsening security situation in Okhoa, has now expanded into a broader geopolitical clash, with both nations trading accusations and warnings as tensions in the Gulf of Good Omen, again, reach a critical juncture.

Updates:

  • Zuhlgani Foreign Ministry says Okhoa referendum, “will take place as planned.”
  • Krauanagazan WF Ambassador, Ryalla T’igarzi, reportedly attempting to arrange a meeting between herself, and various Zuhlgani and Izaakian officials in Grovne.

Prime Minister Walton has denied rumours that his administration is failing for a second time. ‘I’ve not heard that one, maybe they can cite their source,’ he said to a journalist.

In a podcast with the Speaker recently, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the role of Deputy Prime Minister is ‘very intense’, a lot of tasks you need to undertake come ‘out of the blue’, and said that shortly after the election results became clear back in 2022, the Prime Minister approached him about becoming Prime Minister a third time before rotating to Deputy Prime Minister and he wasn’t sure at first and the Prime Minister told him to ‘go away and think’.

Amongst other topics, the Deputy Prime Minister discussed his favourite films.

The Slovesen People’s Revolution:

After several weeks of skirmishes between, formerly, NRF and currently, SRA forces and the military, the situation has changed. Visrodin has seen the appearance of guerilla warfare in most rural and mountainous regions, and the defeat of several military garrisons in such regions. Due to the unstable and poor control of the Visrodin Army over these regions, the SRA has managed to gain strength, and the towns and cities in such areas have been forming their own republican local governments (Soviets).

Most importantly, the republican local governments have formed a political and defensive alliance, which is being called the Union of Slovesen Soviet Republics. The USSR has recognized the Slovesen Republican Army as the legitimate military force of the republican alliance, and has also voted SRA socialist leader Miladin Tinchev as the main leader of the alliance.

Tinchev, whose location had always been unclear and hidden, back during the days of the NRF, has held a speech in the city of Nevenovo, which has been secured by soldiers of the SRA. The speech goes as follows:

"Slovesen all over our country, listen up! After centuries of continuous oppression, exploitation and lies by the upper classes of the country, be it the royal nobles, corrupt businessmen or inhumane military officers, the time has never been more ripe for our liberation! It is clear that all hopes of democracy and decent civil and worker’s rights in Visrodin reside only on ourselves. It doesn’t matter who we will have to fight against, Anton Todorov, or Viktor III Rucheyski, we must not be afraid to fight against those who will otherwise abuse and dispose of us like we were little playthings.

Thanks to these monsters, and their horrible predecessors, our country has stayed centuries behind, compared to the rest of Pacifica. It is now our chance to turn our lives around and fight for our basic living standards, as well as establish a functional and fair democracy, unlike Visrodin has ever seen. Rise, proletariat!"

In this new phase of the conflict, the SRA has risen up and has already occupied around 12.300 km² of the country, pretty much all in mountainous and isolated rural regions. The provincial capital cities of both Lower and Upper Maglenets, and Kozaritsa have been seized by the republicans. Another occupied citiy is Rusaliovo, close to the border with UPRAN. Several other cities are already contested by the republicans. Most notably, Lazurovo, with over 100k people, has seen itself already contested as well.

It is not safe to assume that the military dictatorship was wholly unprepared and naive of possibility of such an escalation of the conflict. The most likely case here is that the Visrodin Army is finding planning and organizational difficulties, result of the recent mass purges of the officer corps, as well as high levels of sympathy towards the republican cause of new recruits and lower-rank soldiers.

Prime Minister Simpson has welcomed President Christopher Elliott of Qaweritoyu to Amberholde this afternoon. The Prime Minister will host the President in his quarters where they will have brief discussions. The Prime Minister will also host Sergio Proctor at the same time as the President. The reason is unclear as Mr. Proctor is an elected MP but is not in the Majority Party or the Cabinet, nor the Opposition. The President of Amberholde is being left out of meetings altogether.

BREAKING NEWS: President Elliott of Qaweritoyu has forced the President of Amberholde out of office and terminated the office of President of Amberholde. He has suspended the Amberholde Parliament, pending a General Election. He has, therefore, dismissed all MPs in Amberholde. He has appointed Sergio Proctor as Governor-General of Amberholde.

Prime Minister Simpson has informed President Elliott he does not have the authority to make such decisions in Amberholde.

President Elliott has informed the Prime Minister and his Cabinet that their President no longer holds office and no longer sits as President of Amberholde. He informed the Prime Minister that the Governor-General will be passing an Executive Order on his behalf this evening and after that, he will become the legitimate Head of State of Amberholde. He has informed the Prime Minister that his term as Prime Minister ends tonight and that a new, interim Prime Minister will be appointed this evening and will be sworn in immediately. The President also informed the Prime Minister that he has invited the Governor-General to appoint the interim Prime Minister on his behalf and he has invited the Governor-General to reform Parliament, to make it more democratic, and to call a General Election as soon as possible.

Prime Minister Simpson has politely asked the President to leave the country a second time and asked why he is doing this.

President Elliott has responded to the Prime Minister saying that he will leave the country when he is ready to and that he is doing it because Amberholde’s Majority Party is running the country ‘like a dictatorship’, and that it was time to ‘re-establish fair play and democracy’.

The Governor-General has dismissed Danny Simpson as Prime Minister of Amberholde and appointed Matthew Fowler as Prime Minister. Governor Proctor said he would call on the Prime Minister to call a General Election in due course.

Prime Minister Fowler has confirmed he is an independent politician and not part of the suspended Parliament. He confirmed that this is unusual and unprecedented but confirmed that his successor as Prime Minister will be an elected MP and Parliament will not remain suspended at that time.

The Chairman’s Response:

As soon as the news about the start of the republican revolution on eastern Visrodin reached the capital city of Sarnitsa, Chairman Anton Todorov immediately decreed the mandatory conscription of large numbers of able-bodied men, mainly from the provinces the military holds a firm control over.

Todorov has called members of the USSR, the SRA and any Visrodin citizen who may join them traitors, and condemns the spread of socialism and communism over the country. With this argument, Todorov has also issued a public statement, destined for other international leaders, calling for possible aid for the military dictatorship, saying that: “his rule will be preferrable to the existence of any socialist regime in Pacifica”.

Viktor III Rucheyski, despite being the Knyaz and official Head of State of Visrodin has reportedly not been allowed to hold any public statements. The Knyaz remains in the Royal Palace in Sarnitsa, recovering from his recent heart attack.

A Republican Zimnitsa:

Zimnitsa, the coastal province immediately south of Maglenets, the main birthplace of the revolution, has seen itself under attack by the SRA from the Nevenovo direction. SRA militia already made their way to the large city of Lazurovo, and have fought several skirmishes with some soldiers of the Visrodin Army.

However, these skirmishes were short-lasting, as the garrison of the Visrodin Army unexpectedly surrendered. It is being reported that a large group of soldiers from the Visrodin Army ambushed and shot the main commander of the Zimnitsa Garrison, and forced other high-ranking commanders in the garrison to surrender power to them.

This event is just one of the most impactful mutinies and defections that are ocurring in the recently established front. The Chairman may as well have completely gotten rid of disloyal officers, but due to the revolutionary nature of the conflict, the loyalty of lower-ranking soldiers may be the hardest thing for Todorov to earn.

With this, the city of Lazurovo us now under republican control, as well as the city of Voivodets, in the province of Zimnitsa, which may very well become the main center of the revolution.

BREAKING— The Cordilian Human Rights Watch (CHRW) has strongly condemned the political upheaval in Amberholde, calling it an, “unprecedented erosion of democratic norms.” CHRW issued a statement denouncing President Elliott’s unilateral dissolution of Amberholde’s Parliament, and the appointment of a Governor-General, warning that such actions, “set a dangerous precedent for authoritarian overreach under the guise of democratic reform.” The organization has called for international scrutiny and urged the World Forum to take immediate action.

Krauanagazan officials echoed these concerns, with both Krauanaet Thalira Renkara and, Secretary of State Darius Korin condemning Elliott’s actions as, “an affront to the principles of self-governance and national sovereignty.” The Krauanagazan State Department has stated that it does not recognize Elliott as the legitimate Head of State of Amberholde, reaffirming its support for the democratic institutions and the right of the Amberholde people to determine their own government.

As the crisis unfolds, CHRW has warned that freedom of speech and political opposition in Amberholde could be under immediate threat, calling on international observers to monitor the situation closely. Meanwhile, diplomatic tensions in Southern Cordilia continue to escalate as world leaders weigh their response to the developing crisis.

Visrodin in Crisis: The Rise of the Slovesen Soviet Republics and Foreign Maneuvering

The Visrodin crisis has reached a new phase as the Slovesen Republican Army (SRA) and its newly declared Union of Slovesen Soviet Republics (USSR) consolidate control over vast swaths of the nation’s rural and mountainous regions. The swift advance of the insurgency, coupled with the formation of self-governing “Soviet Republics” in occupied areas, underscores the worsening instability in the embattled kingdom, where Chairman Anton Todorov’s military government is struggling to maintain its grip on power.

The rapid expansion of the USSR and its formally recognized armed wing, the SRA, has shocked observers and is forcing regional powers Krauanagaz and Zuhlgan to reassess their strategies in Visrodin. While both nations have refrained from directly acknowledging the USSR as a legitimate entity, intelligence sources suggest both governments are actively monitoring developments and considering their next moves.

New Head of State President Christopher Elliott has responded to the CHRW and the Krauanagazan officials, saying, 'The previous Republic of Amberholde was under a Theocracy and claimed to hold democratic elections but, alas, the Eastern Theocratic Party held onto power. In a democracy, opinions change, shaped by activity over the past however long a Government or, in my case, a President holds power and they might vote the same party over and over, but there will be a time when the tables turn. The tables weren’t turning, which more or less confirms fowl play.

‘I’m not out to get anybody and I would be open to discussions, where we can discuss what has happened here, what is happening and what is to happen going forward, however, we do, this week, claim Amberholde as a Free State, no longer a Republic, in compliance with the Free State of Amberholde Act 2025 passed on my behalf by the Governor-General by Executive Order, we will uphold the Free State, who will have their own Prime Minister, and we claim the state as a new Qaz colony, under the leadership of me, as President of Qaweritoyu, and future Presidents who will replace me.’

DEVELOPING— International backlash is mounting in response to President Christopher Elliott’s declaration of Amberholde as a Qaweritoyu colony under the newly established Free State of Amberholde. The announcement, which came alongside Elliott’s dismissal of concerns raised by Cordilian Human Rights Watch (CHRW) and Krauanagazan officials, has been met with widespread condemnation, with critics decrying the move as a blatant act of modern colonialism.

Krauanagaz’s State Department issued a strongly worded statement calling Elliott’s justification for the takeover, “an alarming rejection of democratic norms and national sovereignty.” A spokesperson reiterated that “unilateral claims of colonial rule have no place in the modern era,” and warned that Krauanagaz is considering diplomatic and economic countermeasures in response.

The Barrier Islands Civil Liberties Union (BICLU) has expressed “deep concerns” over the situation, stating that Elliott’s move, “sets a dangerous precedent for nations attempting to subvert self-determination through executive orders." Diplomats from Krauanagaz are reportedly pushing for an emergency World Forum session to address the crisis.

CHRW, which had already condemned Elliott’s seizure of power, has now called for international intervention, stating that, “Amberholde is being forcibly stripped of its autonomy” and that Elliott’s remarks, “further confirm that this was an orchestrated power grab, not an effort to restore democracy.”

In an unexpected statement, Zuhlgan’s Foreign Ministry also harshly criticized the declaration, denouncing it as, “a textbook example of neocolonialism,” and calling for immediate international sanctions on Qaweritoyu. A spokesperson for the Divine Committee accused Elliott of attempting to, "roll back centuries of progress in dismantling colonial rule,” and warned that Zuhlgan would take all necessary measures to ensure that Amberholde’s sovereignty is restored. Analysts suggest that this strong stance may indicate Zuhlgan’s willingness to exert diplomatic or even economic pressure to counter what it perceives as a direct violation of international law.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports of protests against the suspension of Parliament and the forced transition into a Qaweritoyu-controlled state in Amberholde’s major cities continue to spread. As the diplomatic crisis escalates, experts warn that Elliott’s claim over Amberholde could trigger broader geopolitical consequences, with multiple governments now weighing their next steps in response to the controversial declaration.

President Elliott has flown into Clearhill International Airport, returning from a four-day visit in Amberholde. The President has been under fire, during his visit, from the CHRW, Krauanagaz, the BICLU and Zuhlgan.

President Elliott held a press conference in the airport, where he discussed his thoughts on being under fire from so many parties and his thoughts on potential tariffs. He said, ‘I continue to invite them to visit me here in Qaweritoyu and address their concerns, this remains an open invitation. If they decline the invitation, I can’t do much about that.’

When asked why he chose to fly into Clearhill International, the President said, ‘I’ve just been in Amberholde to establish law and order and to re-establish democracy, now it’s time to get Clearhill’s Parliament back up and running, also. Clearhill fell a few years ago when talks on forming a Government broke down, let’s see if we can re-establish the Free State of Clearhill and get Clearhill back on their feet.’

Since the above mentioned press conference, on reaching his Clearhillian accommodation for the evening, President Elliott passed, by Executive Order, the Free State of Clearhill Act 2025, the Act takes effect immediately. The President has appointed Freddie Wright as Governor-General of Clearhill.

Governor Wright of Clearhill met with Prime Minister Walton today to discuss the new Parliament of Clearhill. The Prime Minister wished to meet the Governor as the re-establishment of the Clearhillian Parliament had been on the Modern Marxist manifesto in 2022. The Prime Minister stated, ‘Myself, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Cabinet are committed to assisting his Excellency and Governor Wright in whatever way possible to help re-establish and stabilize the Parliament in Clearhill.’

President Elliott confirmed he has invited Governor Wright to reform the Clearhillian Parliament and to appoint a Prime Minister.

Governor Wright has appointed Henry Mason as interim Prime Minister of Clearhill, replacing Grace Rivera. Rivera served as Prime Minister until 2022 when Government formation talks broke down and were abandoned. Rivera currently serves in the Qaz Cabinet as Minister of Economy and Planning.

Prime Minister Mason has confirmed that Governor Wright will contact him to call a General Election as soon as Parliament reforms are complete.

The general public in Qaweritoyu have noticed the contrast between Clearhill and Amberholde and now worry for Amberholde’s future as a Qaz colony.
