Minister of Land, Transport, and Infrastructure Jihye Petrova has announced on the 16th that it will execute 65% (12.4 trillion Grivna) of the social overhead capital (SOC) budget in the first half of this year.
“As private construction investment has been greatly reduced due to rising construction costs and the tight real estate project financing (PF) market, rapid SOC projects centered on the public sector are more urgently required than ever,” Minister Petrova said in a statement at the economy ministers’ meeting held at the Gawrnov Government Complex.

During building work along the perimeter of the Slaughter House Presidential Estate a mass grave has been uncovered. Police were called to the scene and after additional excavation have uncovered up to 3000 corpses of Karnetvorian and Techganetian POW’s from The Great War. Due to the boggy conditions, the corpses had been mummified. Police have classified the scene as a historic site, and will not be pursuing an investigation into war crimes.

Kanoa and Kiana the Co-founders of Farm Books host their first big release event in the Hurley Guildhall. The Montwælda Estate (Formally Crown Estate) has expressed interest in implementing Farm Books across its agricultural land. Montwælda estates currently cover 15% of the land area in The USI and profits go directly into the Presidential Budget.

The office for the President announces that the official country retreat will be Willow Cottage, a moated cottage in Ma’Kaui State near St Ottery. The 17th century cottage will be used primarily for residential purposes for the Montwældas family, with guest rooms available. Within close proximity to the house is a Barn and Stables, the Barn has been converted into a banqueting hall with adjoining kitchen, and the stables have been converted into offices for staff use and security personnel. Also on the estate are 3 other cottages which will be put to use for visiting heads of state and other guests if required.
The house is located centrally within a large area of Montwælda estate farmland, and it understood the President is keen to develop the farmland into an agricultural development centre.

When asked why the decision was made to permanently move the official country residence of the Montwælda from Slaughterhouse to Willow Cottage, the President Responded “Why do you think I moved the official residence away from a House with 6 known massacres on the ground, that never has any sunshine because it’s sheltered from the sun by mountains all year round, and is surrounded on the other side by inhospitable barren moorland? Not to mention clearly flawed from a security sense given the horrific murder of President Blanc.
This new house in lovely rolling countryside, with good transport links, surrounded by some of the finest and most aesthetic agricultural land in the world is a much better choice.”

Courts in Keanu and Hurley find the State of Conaro and The TCC guilty of criminal negligence, and dozens of cases of manslaughter. The courts fined Conaro £10 billion, and fined The TCC £25 billion.
A successful verdict for the prosecution now allows the government to launch a case against the two nations at the International Court, the government is expected to submit the case in the coming days.
The verdicts for the two remaining prisoners and the international backers from Conaro are expected tomorrow.

Keanu and Hurley sentences two Terra Firma operatives to death by Chumming. This is the first time the death penalty has been used in Keanu and Hurley since 1970.
The Izaakian Foreign Office has summoned the Ambassador of Keanu and Hurley to issue a formal complaint over the use of the death penalty on Izaakian citizens. It is believed the government has taken a particular dim view on “chumming” as a method of execution. The government has requested the sentences be commuted to a full life sentence.
