Spokesman for the Ministry of Internal affairs announced that it has been decided that the Humanitarian Corridor will be placed under lockdown by tommorow, and steps will be taken to prepare the route to be shut down by 2023.12.18

Keanuan Prime Minister Taika resigns from his role as PM, saying “After leading this country for more than a decade, and having led through the toughest year in its long and distinguished history, I feel that this role has taken its toll, and I no longer have the energy and capacity to lead. I will therefore step back from my role as PM. I have informed the king of my decision to resign, and he has accepted. Tomorrow, he will call a council of the island chiefs, and they will elect a new leader. I wish them and the country well, and it will be my honour to continue to serve as a chief for the island of Papillion. “

Montwælda Rombold experienced his first assassination attempt today. A lone gunman attempted to shoot the Montwælda as his convoy left parliament, however as the car was armoured, there were no fatalities. Police have apprehended the suspect, and detained her on grounds of insanity. Montwælda Rombold is reportedly considering the possibility of not riding in the back of a convertible on Midsommar after the incident.

After police searched the online activity of the woman who tried to assassinate the president, they found that she had been consuming large volumes of left wing extremist propaganda. Izaakian cyber security services described the websites, footage and stream content as often being from Terra Firma accounts, bots and propaganda channels. Home Secretary Philomena Beaufort promised to crack down on extremist content before the infection becomes widespread.

The Council of Chiefs has elected Chief Moloka’i of Ohayo, the current defence minister as the next Prime Minister of Keanu and Hurley. PM Moloka’i thanked PM Taika for his long and highly effective leadership of the country, and promised to try and follow in his footsteps. He went on to say he has one mission to start before the next chiefs election in late 2024 or early 2025, and that is to start building resilience into Keanu and Hurley, security resilience, economic resilience, and climate resilience.
King Keanu then offered Chief Moloka’i the ornate shield of state, which is crafted from turtle shell, and signifies that as PM, Chief Molokai has been entrusted with the defence of the nation.

The Keanu and Hurlean island of Jaques to elect their new island chief on December 20th following the murder of the previous chief Martinique during the hostage crisis. It’s widely expected that Communications Officer Komodo is favourite to win. He is an island native who was part of the Sallocopter crew shot down by Terra Firma, but survived the crash and hid on the island collecting vital intel for the assault.

A film has gone viral on Stream that shows two Sedunnic fighter jets aggressively passing just a few meters above a luxury yacht.
The Sedunnic Armed Forces confirms the incident: “A number of fighters were dispatched to identify a large vessel that was entering Sedunnic territorial sea near the island Urt without an active transponder signal while also maintaining radio silence.”
After the aggressive flyby, the crew on the yacht turned the radio back on, explaining that they had had “technical issues” onboard. The vessel proceeded to dock in Garvem for repairs.

The minister of health has announced that the eAkte (electornic patient file) will have to be delayed until next year because a change in the data protectin law is necessary fo which the federal council is needed. However, it will not convene until next year.
The digitalisation plan from the last trimester meeting has been started, however according to the Ministry for Digital Development has cited issues when finding an approriate company for the programme, as well as the Finance ministry being reluctant when allocating funds.

The Crimson Axe, the axe that chopped of the head of Vrigny’s last monarch and has been missing since 1953, has been found hidden in the attic of a military veteran by VISD officers, who were raiding said officer’s home due to arrest him on suspicion of “crimes against Vrignyans” during the Lawfenist dictatorship. The 92 year old veteran participated in Ferdinand Lawfen’s coup in 1953 and raided Vrigny’s oldest museum in Vraks, which held many of the nation’s cultural artifacts and statues, mainly from the Vrignyan Revolution of the first decade of the XIX century. The veteran, after trial, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison due to the theft of cultural heritage, as well as the other crimes committed during the dictatorship. With this, the war between the VISD and Vrigny’s old military officers continues, with the government getting closer and closer to erasing all previous corruption and injustices performed by Vrigny’s military during the last 61 years. Many now rejoice at the recovery of the Crimson axe, which will be sent back to the Vraks Historic Museum.
Meanwhile, protests have erupted in eastern Vrigny, as many of Rijeke’s miners, involved in the country’s domestic production of uranium, are against of the proposed “ecological transition” of Vrigny, mainly the construction of solar and wind farms. They argue that with that, Vrigny will lose a big hold on its economic independence, as many of the materials needed for the construction of, mainly the solar panels, and possibly batteries, aren’t available domestically, while Vrigny still has plenty of uranium, and nuclear power is still clean. Not only that, but many jobs will probably be lost, mainly from the mining industry, if Vrigny proceeds with said modifications on its energy sector.

Keanu and Hurley to begin the court case against the 7 Terra Firma prisoners in the new year, if found guilty they could possibly face the death penalty, as sentence not used in Keanu and Hurley for over 40 years. In addition to the 7 prisoners Keanu and Hurley will be launching criminal proceedings against Major “Corky” Corkran who is known to have survived the air crash, Percy Le Rogue the leader of the Terra Firma organisation and a Conegasque Billionaire who funded the operation.
Cases of criminal negligence will be launched in domestic courts against the TCC and Conaro, and it understood the government is looking into launching a case at the International Court.

The Industrieverband Eflad (IVE) has issued a position paper/open letter to the government complaining that the electricity price is becoming too high to bear and that layoffs might be necessary as a next step. “Should the government take no action ins assuring and supporting the industry it will lead mass layoffs and production loss. If we want to transfer to renewable energies and have a functioning industry an industrial electricity price is, amongst other things, a must”
