A series of disagreements between the ruling military leaders and the Knyaz has resulted in the storming of the Sarnitsa Royal Palace by a large regiment of troops. The military reportedly opened fire against resisting members of the Royal Guard, and then made its way to the Knyaz.
The most powerful and influential leader of the military, Anton Todorov, then met with Knyaz Viktor III Rucheyski, restrained by several of Todorov’s soldiers, and reportedly made the Knyaz sign an off an agreement which gives all political powers to Anton Todorov. Under the agreement, the Knyaz would still be a figurehead Head of State, however.
It is theorized that the main reason for this further military takeover of power is the Knyaz’s intention to restore the House of Barons’ function as an advisory body, and the influential military leaders were against this idea. Another reason is the Knyaz’s intention to form a governing court mostly comprised by nobles, with not enough military officer representation that would please the military.
Anton Todorov now holds complete absolute power in Visrodin. He now proclaims himself as chairman, and has started to form a military cabinet to rule Visrodin according to his ideology and plans for the future. There are already hundreds of imprisonments as the military has now expanded the scope of its purges to include ultra-royalists.
