Office of the Delegate

OFFICE OF THE DELEGATE

Welcome to the Office of the Delegate. This topic will be used to publish updates and information related to the delegacy, and may also serve as a place to direct questions to the Delegate.

Please proceed to post #9 for updates relating to the current delegacy.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Delegate:

The Delegate is the ceremonial head of state of the South Pacific, and holds the onsite position of WA Delegate in the South Pacific. Constitutionally, they are charged with:

  1. helping maintain the security of the region,
  2. promoting growth and activity, and
  3. serving as an advisor to the forum-side government.

The Delegate has legal responsibilities relating to the assignment of Regional Officers (as requested by the Prime Minister or an assigned deputy, or the Council on Regional Security), and voting and approving World Assembly legislation in a manner pursuant to TSP law.

What does the Delegate do?

On top of fulfilling their legal responsibilities, the Delegate engages with the broader TSP community, both gameside and offsite, to further their role of maintaining security and promoting growth and activity. Past delegates used their position to provide updates to the region on various happenings across the region, and helped with organizing cultural and other activities.

Past Delegates also worked to (along with the Coral Guard and the Council on Regional Security) increase their endorsement count, and these efforts are a large part of why the South Pacific boasts the second-highest WA Delegate endorsement count on NationStates.

Who decides the Delegate?

Delegate elections start twice a year, on January 15th and July 15th. With a few exceptions, most TSP Citizens who are WA residents of TSP prior to the start of the election are allowed to run. There are two rounds in each Delegate election: one that takes place on the TSP forums (and involves TSP citizens only), and the second that takes place on a gameside poll (open only to WA residents of TSP, although SPSF members are allowed to cast absentee ballots if they are on deployment).

Who is the Delegate?

The current Delegate is @lordnwahs / Differences-In-Differences, who has been serving since April 30th 2026.

“you know, I love how funny, kind, unprofisional even though you are the delgate of the south pacific. You are one of the best delegates if seen. Actually replying and having conversations and nt being ignorant, just makes me love you even more. Most people are never humoures once they are a delegate of a big region or a game mod. You deserve this position”

 A PROCLAMATION

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME:

WHEREAS BY, Article VI, Section 1 of the Charter of the Coalition of the South Pacific, the Delegate is responsible for “promoting growth and activity” in the region; and

WHEREAS, one effective way to promote growth and activity is by recognizing the hard work and dedication of South Pacificans through the establishment of awards; for it is through the unwavering commitment of our members that the region thrives and continues to exist; and

WHEREAS, in Cabinet Order 56, Prime Minister Kringle established The Order of the Llama, The Order of the Badger, and The Thanks of the Prime Minister as official distinctions to be awarded by the Prime Minister; and

WHEREAS, applauding that initiative and not seeking to supersede or duplicate the efforts of the Prime Minister or any other branch of government, but rather to further expand the scope of regional awards and recognition without infringing upon their ability to establish and grant such distinctions; and

WHEREAS, I find it prudent to establish three new regional distinctions, to be awarded by the head of state: one highest distinction reserved for those members of the South Pacific who have rendered extraordinary and irreplaceable service to the region, one distinction to recognize the service of RMB moderators, and one distinction awarded to players who made sustained and meaningful contributions to the gameside community.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ERSTAVIK, DELEGATE OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC, under the authority vested in me by the Charter and Laws of the Coalition of of the South Pacific, do hereby proclaim as follows:

Section 1. The Order of the South Pacific is hereby established as the highest distinction granted by the head of state, reserved for those members of the South Pacific who have rendered extraordinary and irreplaceable service to the region, whose vision and sacrifice have shaped the course of the community in ways both profound and enduring, and whose dedication to the values and unity of the South Pacific stands as a lasting example to all who call this region home.

Section 2. The Order of the Coral Sea is hereby established as a distinction granted by the head of state to those members of the South Pacific who have served as moderators of the Regional Message Board, working tirelessly to uphold the community standards, respectful and welcoming discourse, and to ensure that the gameside remains an inclusive space where all players may gather to have fun.

Section 3. The Pearl of the South Pacific is hereby established as a distinction granted by the head of state to those members of the South Pacific who have made sustained and meaningful contributions to the gameside community, enriching the culture of the Regional Message Board or Knowhere through their creativity and enthusiasm, and whose enduring presence has become part of the very fabric of this region.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Coalition of the South Pacific to be affixed, at Government Island, this 7th day of April, 2026.

Launch of TSP RMB Updates series

I have started a TSP RMB Updates series, which serves to update the RMB more frequently via posts on happenings in the region.

This will complement what I intend to do with Delegate’s Briefings, which will be more structured and will be disseminated via pinned dispatches, telegrams, Discord and the forums.

The first TSP RMB Update was posted today, relating to the recent cabinet nominees.

A list of TSP RMB Updates will be maintained on this dispatch.

Coalition Day Address

Hello fellow South Pacificans!

Today (June 2nd) marks Coalition Day, one of the official holidays of our region. It is a day to commemorate the creation of the Charter, Government, and the Coalition of the South Pacific, the institutions that are the cornerstone of our democratic system of government.

As former caretaker PM @HumanSanity remarked in Linkhis closing address a week ago, the events of the past 2 months, with recalls, resignations, and multiple elections, may have created a perception of chaos and disorganization, but our institutions have met the challenge, and we have emerged stronger from it. Indeed, the Coalition has faced even greater challenges and crises in the past, but it is not for no reason that we remain NationStates’ Oldest Democracy. The ability of our region to evolve with each challenge is a testament to the robustness of our democracy, and the values that the Coalition upholds.

I invite all South Pacificans, regardless of how much or how little you have participated in our regional government, to reflect on this enduring strength of our region. Read our LinkCharter, a document which has existed in some iteration since the formation of our Coalition more than 20 years ago, and which has helped preserve our democratic Government for the same amount of time. Consider what past South Pacificians have done in order to defend our institutions, what we have to do to meet our present challenges, and what legacy we want to leave for future generations of South Pacificans.

Thank you, and long live the Coalition!
