October 2025 Speaker Elections
Dear Excellencies, Members and Observers of the World Forum,
I want to preface this announcement by saying, the last year was eventful, and not in the best of ways. Worse yet, the World Forum served such a minor role in the world theater that this long overdue Speaker elections were not even missed much internationally, and not without reason.
As ambassador, I already knew that the World Forum was slow, inefficient, and powerless most of the time, I knew that from the Cordilian War and the Izaakia-NGB Conflict when I served as delegate for the United Provinces and had to face myself against slow bureaucracy that put in risk thousands of lives. But as Speaker I learned how deep that impotence was rooted, and that it wasn’t just a lack of dynamism, but a feeling that every approved resolution was met with silence. As Speaker of the World Forum, I take responsibility, as I have failed many who required the justice promised by the World Forum. When I started this tenure, I originally promised that I would do my best to improve the apparent problems of this institution. However, a few months in and an armed conflict later, the Gulf War, I learnt that whatever causes this organization to have no power beyond mere suggestion in the international environment is beyond my ability to fix, and I was simply not the right person.
The World Forum remains as it has always been, not worsened or improved, but I feel no sense of accomplishment nor pride from my tenure or this institution, and this is, in large part, my fault. I nevertheless thank my colleagues and Deputy Speaker Helena Meise for their efforts despite the odds.
With this message, I start these overdue and barely missed elections to, hopefully, give another chance to this organization which, against all odds, remains a place of great hopes for accord and peace for all people of Pacifica. With the right people, with a bit more dialogue and less war, this place can achieve great things, and I will keep wishing for that to become true under new speakership.

OOC: I know these are way to late, I just couldn’t be bothered with it between my inactivity, studies and other projects, and, to be honest, I just directly forgot that the World Forum speaker role was even a thing. I figured that now that I have finally decided to just leave, I should at least short this out beforehand.
