So I was thinking, and the only way to both have a murder mystery on Araknis’s Capital Ship, but also not have the Colonus Pact just be completely incompetent, would be to have there be an unforeseen energy wave that knocks out some of the power, and either allows the immediate assassination/assassination attempt, or creates a situation that allows for it later
I would like this to all happen after to coronation, but since this wave would be happening during Araknis’s funeral, it might not make sense to have the coronation actually take place at that moment

All of this requires either a strong net of people on the inside (incompetency on Colonus’s part), or showing up and attacking the strongest ship-class in the Colonus Pact (incompetency on Colonus’s part if they succeed)

So I’m about to make the topic (by the time some of you will be reading this, I’ll already have made it). Do you want me to start it right before/as everyone is arriving, or would everyone prefer that I give some more set up to it?
I think I’ll also switch it around so that the coronation happens first, so that when the star explodes and unexpectedly takes down some of the security measures? We should also probably figure out at what point the killing is happening (I had meant to do this earlier but forgot), but maybe that’s best left up to @Flaming

So I’ve been thinking, and I think the best way to do this would be to have all the important people view the funeral in one area, and everyone else views it in another area. This way we could have everyone in one spot, and eliminate everyone else as a suspect.
Really all that needs to happen is that it gets bright, everyone has to look away as the star goes supernova, the lights get knocked out and the cameras turn off
