Statement from the Office of the Mitallarkava
January 9, 2024
My fellow Mitalldukish citizens,
Today, we find ourselves compelled to address an alarming incident that strikes at the core of our national security and sovereignty. The recent act of aggression by armed Krautali fishers against a Mitallduk fishing trawler is an affront to our great nation.
Let me be unequivocal in my condemnation of this terroristic act. Such actions are not only an attack on our citizens but also a blatant disregard for the norms that govern interactions between our states. We, as the Mitallduk Confederacy, demand accountability for this outrageous act.
I find it particularly disconcerting that the Krauanagaz Federation attempts to downplay the severity of this incident. If the tables were turned, and a Mitallduk vessel intercepted a Krauanagazan ship in a similar manner, they would undoubtedly label it as terrorism and call for swift justice. It is hypocritical for them to treat our citizens’ safety and well-being with any less urgency.
Let us not forget the events of July 9, 2008, when a Mitallduk vessel was allegedly involved in an incident in the North Kraudukra Sea. The Krauanagaz Federation was quick to condemn it as a “flagrant disregard of the ceasefire agreement” and demanded extradition for those responsible. Yet, when their own citizens commit a violent act, they attempt to diminish its gravity and play it down.
This double standard is unacceptable, and will not stand.
We demand the Krauanagaz Federation take immediate and decisive action to locate the detained Mitallduk citizens and ensure their safe return. We also call on the international community to condemn this act of aggression and pressure the Krauanagaz Federation to uphold the principles of peace and diplomacy.
In the face of adversity, we stand united as a nation. Our citizens’ safety is paramount, and we will not rest until those responsible for this act are held accountable.
Signed,
Lukian Kullan
