Erstavik for Delegate

ERSTAVIK FOR DELEGATE

My fellow South Pacificans:

It is my great honor to stand for election as your next Delegate.

The South Pacific is my home. It is the region where I’ve always felt welcomed and included, the region where I’ve had so many amazing experiences and built lasting friendships. We are a region rich in diversity, with players from all walks of the NS experience. From RMBers and RPers to those who dedicate themselves to regional governance, defending, creative writing, conlangs, graphic design, and so much more, we truly have it all. Some of us prefer to hang out gameside, others off-site, and many of us enjoy both worlds.

What makes our region so special, and our true strength, is that diversity. The whole point in life is to create, and the South Pacific is where we come to connect, create, and grow. Together, we build something more than just a region on an obscure website; we build a community. A community where every voice is heard and every contribution is valued.

This is my region. It is your region. It is our home. And as Delegate, I will work tirelessly to strengthen this community and ensure the South Pacific remains a place where all of us, regardless of our background or playstyle, can thrive together.

My political career began a year ago when I ran for Prime Minister. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a legislator, Director of the Office of World Assembly Legislation, and as a Cabinet Minister. These roles have taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, collaboration, and the importance of balancing the diverse needs of our community.

I’m deeply thankful for the opportunity to have served the South Pacific in these capacities, but now I believe it’s time to return to my true passion: engaging directly with our community. It is in promoting growth and activity, building connections, integrating members, and creating bridges between gameside and off-site where I feel I can make the most meaningful impact.

THE ERSTAVIK AGENDA

Above all else, my delegacy will be defined by engagement with the community. I want to be where the players are, whether that’s on the RMB, the forum, or Discord, and ensure that I’m actively listening to your needs and ideas. That means frequent interaction, creating fun and engaging polls, and providing regular updates that keep everyone informed about what’s happening in our region.

As Delegate, I will prioritize recruitment and integration. It’s essential that we continue to grow as a region and make newcomers feel welcomed and supported from day one. I also want to bring back some pomp and circumstance to the office of Delegate, by conducting state visits and reviving the State of the Coalition addresses.

And perhaps most importantly, I will end the Dessert Wars and bring peace to the region by putting an end to the brutal persecution of pieists. Under my leadership, all desserts will coexist in harmony.

COMMUNITY INTERACTION

I think it's safe to say that I've been one of the cabinet ministers who has interacted the most with the community, especially gameside. That's something I intend to carry over into my delegacy.

As Delegate, you’ll find me on the RMB, the forum, and on Discord, actively engaging with the community. I’ll make sure that the “count to 20 without the Delegate posting” thread never actually reaches 20. I’ll always be around to keep things lively! :squinting_face_with_tongue: Evenings are typically when we see the most activity, so I’ll be dedicating Fridays to Friday RMB Nights as a time when we can all hang out, chat, and have fun.

I also commit to regularly updating the 87.7 NS Dial.

POLLS

I think we all love a good and fun poll, and I promise to bring plenty of them during my time as Delegate! It's an area that overlaps with the Ministry of Culture and the RMB Mayor, so I'll coordinate closely with them to ensure they can run the polls they want without interfering too much. In addition to running polls gameside, I'd also like to run more polls in the Lampshade Bar on Discord.

DELEGATE’S BRIEFINGS

I believe it’s paramount that the Delegate regularly updates the region on what’s happening within the community. We’ve tried to establish a regional newspaper before, an idea I’ve supported in the past, but it’s been difficult to get off the ground and maintain momentum. That’s why I believe Delegate’s Briefings are essential in bridging the informational gap and ensuring members are kept in the loop about what’s going on.

It’s important that everyone knows what our various branches of government are up to, but it’s just as crucial to hear from the members themselves. My briefings will include segments that also highlight news from the RMB and the RP communities. This will give us all a chance to discover parts of the South Pacific we may not usually interact with.

To make these briefings even more interesting, I’ll introduce a Speaker’s Corner where any South Pacifican can submit a short piece on any topic they like. Additionaly, I think it’s important for our citizens to understand how our government works, so I’ll include a section on TSP Civics in every briefing. Lastly, I’d love to work with the newly established Historical Society of the South Pacific to include stories from our region’s rich history.

CARD GIVEAWAYS

I control a large number of card farms, which makes it possible for me to host weekly card giveaways for the region. These giveaways will feature different challenges each week, some creative, others in the form of fun games. Winners will be gifted a card, with a focus on cards featuring past Delegates or other prominent South Pacificans.

MORE POMP AND CIRCUMSTANCE

The Delegate is the head of state of the Coalition, and as such, it’s only natural that the delegacy should also include more formal and ceremonial aspects. One of my priorities will be to revive the State of the Coalition addresses.

Additionally, I will work with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to conduct state visits to our allies and host foreign heads of state here in the South Pacific.

Finally, I’d like to work with the Assembly and the Prime Minister to formalize the awards system established by Cabinet Order 56. Together, we can hold official ceremonies to honor those who have made significant contributions to the South Pacific.

COMMEMORATING REGIONAL HOLIDAYS

As Delegate, I will ensure that all our regional holidays are properly commemorated. I will work with the Prime Minister and Minister of Culture to create special events on these days, so we can all celebrate what makes the South Pacific unique.

THEMED WFES

Themed WFEs are a fantastic way to commemorate both regional and other holidays, and I want to make them a more common occurrence. While I may not be the best at designing them myself, I’m fortunate that many talented members of our community are. I look forward to working with them to create unique and cool WFEs.

FOCUS ON THE WORLD ASSEMBLY

As a long-serving OWL Director, WA affairs are close to my heart, and I'm committed to strengthening the South Pacific's presence in the WA. I will work closely with my successor to ensure we remain actively engaged and influential.

The World Assembly Act grants the Delegate the authority to approve WA proposals independently, and I plan to take advantage of this power, more so than my recent predecessors.

One of my long-term projects as OWL Director was to establish a think tank focused on fostering a resolution writing culture in the region, and to encourage more South Pacificans to become WA authors. While that project was put on hold, primarily due to the low chances of passing meaningful legislation under the current S7 dominance in the GA, the coming implementation of the GA2026 working paper presents us with a fantastic opportunity to begin drafting new resolutions. I look forward to working closely with OWL to support and mentor new resolution authors.

Another long-term promise I’ve made is to help author commendations for deserving South Pacificans. This is a promise I intend to keep, and I will continue to work on it as Delegate.

Lastly, the South Pacific’s strength in the WA is directly tied to the number of endorsements our Delegate holds. I will make it a top priority to increase our endorsements and strengthen our influence in the World Assembly.

RECRUITMENT AND INTEGRATION

One of the Delegate’s responsibilities as outlined in the Charter is to promote growth and activity in the region. Over the past year, we’ve seen a loss of nearly a thousand nations, and I would like to see that trend reversed and our population increase once more. To achieve this, I will work closely with the next Prime Minister and Minister of Integration to focus on recruitment and bringing new nations into the South Pacific.

When it comes to integration, we’ve actually made significant progress in the past year, particularly with more RMBers joining the regional forum. Our elections have also seen higher turnout, which is a very positive sign. I’m committed to ensuring this trend continues, and I will do everything I can as Delegate to keep fostering an inclusive and fun environment for all South Pacificans.

FOSTERING A STRONG ENDOTARTING CULTURE

Having a high cross-endorsement rate is crucial for our regional security, and I’m committed to encouraging more nations to endorse each other. As mentioned earlier, one of my priorities is to increase the number of endorsements on the Delegate, which directly contributes to our security and influence in the World Assembly. Additionally, increasing endorsements on the Delegate will allow the Coral Guard to increase their own endorsements, thus increasing the endorsement cap, which will make it easier for our members to endotart.

PROTECTING REGIONAL SECURITY

The Delegate holds all in-game regional officer powers and is a position of immense trust. I have always been, and will always be, loyal to the Coalition, with its best interests at heart. I will maintain close communication with the CRS and diligently follow their instructions to ensure the South Pacific remains safe and secure.

ENSURING A FAST TRANSITION

Our last Delegate transition took far too long, and I’m committed to making sure this one is much quicker. The gap in endorsements separating me from the delegacy is much smaller this time around, and I’m confident in my ability to help facilitate a swift transition. As a proven endotarter, I’ve held the highest number of endorsements of any non-Coral Guard member for almost a year, and I will do everything in my power to ensure a smooth and fast transition following the election.

Thank you all for the support and confidence you’ve placed in me. It will be an enormous honor to serve as your Delegate. Together, we will make this term a great one, and, above all, a very fun one!

With unwavering loyalty and admiration for all and everyone in the South Pacific,

ERSTAVIK

CONFLICT OF INTEREST STATEMENT

I am a citizen of the Coalition of the South Pacific. I currently serve as the Director of the Office of World Assembly Legislation, as a Cabinet Minister, as a member of the Foreign Affairs Council, and as a legislator in the Assembly. I do not hold, nor have I ever held, any government position or been actively involved in any foreign region.

I control a number of card farming puppets. All of them are either located in the South Pacific or in my card farming region, Erstavik Card Farm Deseret.

Just to put this here;

I am most pleased to offer my full throated and enthusiastic endorsement for your Delegacy! You will make a great successor to the office, and I see many of the policies and initiatives I championed being revisited.

The only downside is making peace with inferior dessert choices. Though, if that allows cake to retain its preeminent status without having to continue fighting for it, I think that might just be for the better.

I must recommend that citizens vote for @Erstavik in the first and second round.

I would vote for you, but there’s not enough Soppo in this campaign.

My dearest friend Erstavik,

Wow we have both come so far. I remember when we first became friends during the January 2025 Prime Minister election and woah what a race that was. You’re an absolute legend! You are 3x OWL Director with lots of experience in this field of WA. I cannot wait to see you became delegate of the region we both love and dear hold to us. You have come so far and you have my upmost support and your my top choice to become our next beloved delegate of TSP! Sorry @Griffindor but someone’s coming for your Emperor Title :face_with_tongue:.

I get there is a lot of choices for Delegate but all Citizens I strongly urge you to pick Erstavik. He is clearly the best choice and he will do what’s best for our region! Proud of you Erstavik!

With that I fully endorse and recommend @Erstavik for Delegate.

I am dropping out of the race for delegate, and endorsing Erstavik instead.

While being sad to do so, I am impressed by Erstaviks campaign, his proven record and time commitments which I simply can’t match. He did enough to earn my vote, and if someone else deserves my vote there is little point in me running. We had a little chat after I declared my nomination, and he has been nothing but kind to me.

Erstavik, All the best

What specific steps would you take to reduce the length of the Delegate transition compared to the previous one? (Although, I think we would be benefited by your endorsement count starting at a higher point.)

Can you give an example of “news from the RMB and the RP communities” from the past month that would be worth highlighting in the Delegate’s Briefings?

What is your plan for what will actually happen on a “state visit” with another region? This always feels like a campaign promise made (both by PMs and Delegates) that ends with awkward speeches in a forum thread.

Amazing campaign. I have always wanted to see Erstavik or UnitedDisneyStates in the Prime Minister office, but WA Delegate? Even better! I hope I can contribute to speeding up the delegate transition process, with that thing I named WEED.

I endorse Erstavik for the next Delegate of the South Pacific!

Thank you for your questions.

Immediately after the election results are proclaimed, I will begin by telegramming every nation that isn’t already endorsing me and asking them to do so. Sometimes that doesn’t work, in which case a more aggressive approach can be effective; withdrawing your endorsement, re-endorsing, and sending an accompanying telegram. During the last transition, I helped out by pinging nations on Discord, which is another method that can be used.

Overall, I think the key to a fast transition is being a bit pushy. As of this writing, there are 55 endorsements separating me from the delegacy and a pool of 189 nations from which to gather endorsements. I’ve had a lot of success in the past using the methods I’ve mentioned, and I’m quite confident I’ll be able to narrow the gap fairly quickly.

This is almost an impossible question to answer, considering there have been thousands of posts on the RMB over the past month. The way I plan to approach this is by collecting noteworthy posts as I go and then selecting highlights from that material.

As for the RP communities, I’m not an RPer myself (aside from very sporadic posts in Knowhere), but I do plan to follow the RPs more closely. There was a discussion on Discord yesterday about making the different RP canons better known and highlighting the differences between them, which is something I’d very much like to help with. That said, the best and most effective way for me to do so will be to work directly with the RPers.

I think speeches are an important aspect of a state visit, but beyond that I envision a reception with military honors, opportunities to showcase TSP culture, and perhaps a state banquet. I also think it would be valuable for our other branches of government to meet with their counterparts during a state visit, allowing them to get to know one another and exchange ideas. For the executive, a state visit provides an opportunity for high-level discussions between our PM and the other region’s head of government.

I offer my wholehearted support for Erstavik for delegate of the South Pacific. He’s relatively new, but I think he has proven himself. I suggest you vote for him, even though he is a dirty piest!
I was actually gonna run too but considering I have barely over 100 endo’s it would’ve taken us 3 years to transition if I had won :face_with_tongue:

I’ve actually been here since 2021, but Erstavik CTEd in August 2024. That said, I’ve only been active in TSP politics for a little over a year, so in that sense I’m still relatively new. :upside_down_face:

I suppose so, but we have members who have been continuously active in our government since the mid-2010s.
