This is the official suggestion for the chart about edits to the language tree here:
Language Map Free Editing Page
current tree:
Title and Content:
I suggest you change the title to “Discussion On IRP Language Nomenclature & Language Families”.
I suggest you change the OP to not declare the chart definitive, instead as your idea.

From The Guide on the Wiki:
To find the best name for your language, you should look up at first, whether there is really no other somewhat active roleplayer with a nation on the regional map, who also wants their nation to speak your language. You can do this at best on our TSP Roleplay Discord server as most active roleplayers have an account on there and the hivemind of the community knows for a majority of the nations, which languages they’re probably speaking. If there is another player, teamwork is needed to find a name, because of our consent rule.
We do not advise to use your nation’s name or one of a region within it as the basis of the language name, since, as we have written above, this could limit future roleplayers in their opportunities to become creative and would forcefully tie them to your nation. Another thing you should not do, is claiming you are the birthplace of a certain culture and their language for the very same reason. If your nation becomes the main or only nation to use a certain language or has certain cultural traits for years, maybe the community would be willing to accept that claim, but you should not assume this from the get-go and would need to always be prepared for others to challenge that statement.
Which is why you need to TAG the following:
@Andreus , @Kliegme , @ Ikonen [tag limit] , @ Tin [tag limit] , @Besern , @Eflad, @LordGianni , @ZeroXz , @Frost , @Izaakia , @KingTEM , @Qwert (Karnetvorian and Ezervulgish), and @ Maverick [tag limit]
For discussion to happen.
Still no fixes
- Why is are Old Austral and Old Boreal not connected? Why is Old Austral so far from other Germanic IRP languages?
- Why is everything derived from Montaciac/Latin?
- Why are are you still using a tree instead of first establishing nomenclatures, then families, then trees?
- Why are Kosbaraans, Freian, Alman and Cimbrian derivatives from Alman? Why are they not closer to Proto-Denvari, Denvari, Boreal, and Old Austral languages?
- Why are Ezervulgish and Karnetvorian still not in their own group?
- Why are Hinomoto, Gara and Kinomoto still in a tree schema?
Cimbrian is (IRP) meant to be a splinter off of Almannic.
Also, its Denvari, not Denvarian(Denverian is correct for the people of Denver), but the whole of it is Denvari, which is still just Denvari as a Plural.
Edited the title accordingly and added tags to the topic.
I currently don’t have more to comment on this topic as what I mentioned on the Discord server already.
This is what I was thinking for my languages. Anything with a black dot is a “dead language” for one reason or another.
The two red languages at the top are colonial languages, and are not considered Kordil Languages but influence the Mitallish and Krautalik language families. The Native Keylic languages also are not Kordil Languages but influence the Okhoa-Takaran language family.
New Kordilik was prolific among the Krautali in the southern regions and diversified when people migrated to the Barrier Islands.
Federation Standard is taught in Krauanagazan schools. However, the entire language tree is spoken somewhere in Krauanagaz due to its multicultural nature.
Mitallish, MedĂaan, or Takaran are taught in Mitalldukish schools when they are functional.
Zuuli is spoken in Zuhlgan and taught to eligible citizens. Only 36.2% of Zuhlgan’s population is literate.
Let me know you thoughts!
I am open to potential edits.
Gara is Korean. The heck do you mean by Korean being a Semitic language group? Explain.
I also expect Garan to be moved to either a separate branch, like how Korean is IRL, or at the very least, if you are capable of making a justification that is good enough, related to Hinomoto, which is a theory irl.
that used to say “Komomoto”, but that had been asked to be removed
Done!
It’s been added!
This is an amazing tree!
I thank you for suggestion for the “Proposed Pacifica Lang Tree”
You are the Orange: Kordil-Kordillik Language Branch
And I “ask” you to remove Gara and Hinomoto from Semitic.
done!
will add seperate branch if you like
- They are
- They aren’t there are many early lingua trees (they’re colour-coded)
- it is easier to picture
- They are all from the Germanic Family irl
- They are
- Fixed!
I think this is probably fine now, just change the “Karnetvorian language branch” colour code of Ezervulgish (Hungarian) into something like “Uncategorised” (which is probably preferable for future RPers) or “Stand-alone” (which is less preferable but would allow for conlangs to be added).
yh prolly
Fixed!
Apennise, Aranzian, Portian and Herculanean derive from Montacian because they’re the IRP version of 4 Romance languages that derive from Latin? (Italian, Sardinian, Venetian and Neapolitan)
yes
Can Tulama (Tulu/Dravidian) and Sokhainean/Sokha (Persian Creole mixed with Tulu, Malagasy, and Swahili) be added aswell?
I’d like Marsicovian to be a separate branch, where an older language Salakoli started first, then Yokonesian, then a split into Marsicovian and Marian.
ok
By the way, on the map I named it “Kordil-Kordillik”, since “Kordil” clashes with my “Kurdÿa”, both meaning “Cordilian”.
