With the recent law change, could the CRS be granted access to CitComm categories and channels on the forum and server?
I personally think that no access necessarily needs to be granted unless it already exists due to mod/admin access.
The Prime Minister/Cabinet was the appointer/overseer of CitComm and did not have such access. While the CRS is indeed our security body, and is trusted to maintain our regional security, members of CitComm were specifically voted upon to be given special real-world trust over OOC player data (nor are members of the CRS required to be 18+).
I do not think any current members of the CRS pose any sort of OOC threat, but they were not confirmed on the expectation they would have access to that OOC data. As a compromise, and for the CRS to perform proper oversight, I would recommend the CRS appoint a liaison to be granted the necessary access rather than granting everyone on the CRS such access.
The CRS is not just performing oversight, they are also legally able to perform the checks themselves.
The CSS already has access to the CitComm channel on the server. To my knowledge there are no such areas on the forum.
