Hello everybody, here is your Minister of Culture!
As some of you may know, according to Section 1 of Article 3 of the Cultural Act, today, 2nd June, will be the day to celebrate the “Coalition Day, celebrating the creation of the Charter, Government, and the Coalition”.
First of all, I would like to let you know that we will have an event on our Discord from today (2nd) to 8th June. All information can be found in this pamphlet: Inserir-um-t-tulo-20240601-140458-0000 hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB. We will also have the presence of other regions, so it will be even more fun!
I’m not good with words, but I’ll try something basic. This day is certainly much more than a simple holiday, but a day to reflect on what we have become, what we have built and what we continue to build. This community, The South Pacific, is the primary NS home for many, including mine. I think what we have here is actually something really special and, in some ways, impressive I would say. Of course, there are still things to be resolved, and there always will be, but that doesn’t make the region worse than the others, on the contrary, it’s in these moments that we discover people who are really interested in helping the South Pacific and making it a better place in all senses.
This region has already gone through serious problems, but we are still standing, and that’s what matters after all.
I met, and continue to meet, very good people here and seeing this community growing brings me happiness.
In addition to this holiday we also have, because of Cabinet Order 27, a day of observance, thanks to the commendation of @HumanSanity, who did a lot not only for the South Pacific, but for other regions. I would like to record here my sincere congratulations and thanks for their services.
Now, I will allow myself to steal the words of our current Minister of Foreign Affairs, @ProfessorHenn, who explained in our embassy on the NS forums:
“Coalition Day celebrates the formation of our democratic form of government, coming about as a result of bitter struggles and perseverance. Killer Monkeys was an early proponent of the idea when they created our very first forum in May 2003 and announced plans for the formation of an elected regional government. These plans were delayed multiple times, first by back-to-back coups by The XYZ Affair and The Fathoms Below, and then by the loss of our forum. This did not deter our early leaders: Goddessness retook control of the region on June 2nd, 2003 and Tsunamy created a new forum where our first ever regional elections were held the following month. We commemorate and celebrate these brave pioneers who helped cement the notion that our region should be governed democratically as a coalition of free nations, and who built the institutions that have stood the test of time for more than two decades.”
This is definitely very interesting!
Now, a message from our illustrious Prime Minister, @Penguin:
"It’s Coalition Day! It’s Coalition Day!
Wonderful People of TSP it’s Coalition Day! TSP has been around longer than some of y’all and we just keep getting better. I am so proud to serve as Prime Minister during this time.
As I am a Lady of few words, here is something for you.
When NationStates started I don’t think anyone thought it would continue as long as it has. TSP has been there from the start and honestly I think will continue to be here even if the game ended tomorrow. Just this past April we saw NS down for a week or two and TSP still existed in the face of the sad times.
TSP is the best region in NS; always has been and always will be. The people make the region and our people are amazing. We welcome one and all with open arms and we have the kind of community that many strive to find in real life. The friends I have made in TSP are many. Friends have been made all around the world and it doesn’t matter if you have never met face to face, you know you can count on them to be there if you need them.
It’s because the Coalition has been here that I attribute the skills I have learned from being in various positions of government on my Real Life resume. We have so much to be thankful for when it comes to TSP and I for one, and so grateful that this community and Coalition exists.
THANK YOU MAX BERRY for making a place for the TSPeoples and just for TSP in general. "
Really very beautiful, well said and truly words. Thank you very much Prime Minister!
Thank you everyone for everything! Happy Twenty-First Coalition Day for The South Pacific!
