CN2304 [2326.CN] Cabinet Shuffle

CN2304 | Cabinet Shuffle

@legislators of the South Pacific,

There has been a seconded motion to confirm @HumanSanity as Minister of Regional Affairs and @Amerion as Minister of Foreign Affairs, following their nominations by the Prime Minister. The debate thread can be found here.

RULING

The Charter, following amendment [2321.AB], only states the Prime Minister’s nominated Cabinet ministers “receive confirmation” from the Assembly, which I opine is covered under Article I §§ 3–4 of the Legislative Procedure Act as an “appointment,” hence the debate and voting periods, and majority requirement.

INFORMATION

This is an appointment to the Cabinet, according to the Legislative Procedure Act requiring a majority greater than 50% to pass. The voting period will be 3 days, thus concluding on Tue May 16 2023 19:00:00 UTC (20:00 in London, 15:00 in New York, 05:00 on May 17 in Sydney).

Please vote by poll if possible. If you cannot vote by poll, post ‘Aye’, ‘Nay’ or ‘Abstain’ in this thread. Please do not vote both by poll and by post. Comments and discussions belong in the debate thread and should be posted there.
