Chum Chumian Diplomatic Crisis

Karkat, the High Manager of Chum Chum, has penned this letter to the leaders of surrounding Pacifican countries in hopes that they are able to assist in this situation.

Greetings, esteemed leader.
I am writing to you regarding a serious diplomatic crisis regarding Chum Chum and our motherland Hivinia.
As you may know, Chum Chum was founded during the Great Hivinian Revolution, when 5 members of Hivinia, after roots of discord had spread, burned down the government building as a revolt against the authoritarian government and the hardline patriots of Hivinia who stifled any pushback of the people. (Arguably, the patriots were worse than the government.)
After the death of the Hivinian leader in the fire, the same 5 members sailed on a makeshift raft to the island of Chum Chum, and established a “ferry” that took others from Hivinia to Chum Chum.

Some chose to stay in Hivinia, and have become a sort of anarcho-militia state that occasionally forms a resemblance of a dictatorship as some defectors have testified, called “Neo-Hivinia”. What we do know, however, is that they are heavily armed and intend to go to war with Chum Chum.
We cannot afford the war, but that is the least of our concern, we shall make it up. The bigger problem is that we are a tranquil nation with quite the weak military and very little war preparation. If- and we have reason to believe they will- they strike us, we will not be able to defend nor attack back.

Our country, being supported mostly by tourism, is also at risk of having natural beauty destroyed. Being a very agricultural state, we don’t have the resources to recover if the nature is destroyed, never mind the loss of tourists coming to see the flora and fauna of Chum Chum.

We request your generous assistance, whether that be defensive or offensive, in Chum Chum. Rest assured that we are a very diplomatic nation and if aid is given, you will earn our trust, respect, and anything we are able to offer in return. Thank you.

-Karkat, High Manager of Chum Chum
