What color schemes did you choose? I don’t think I have the time, money or space for minis rn but I really love the lore and been watching some gameplay lately.
There’s instructions on how to paint them, I’ve gone off of that a little (it hasn’t always looked great, but it’s shown me that not all the paints can or should be used the same, even if they’re all base paints). The main suggested colors for the space marines are the blue, black, and gold, and the main colors for the tyranids are the off-white and purple (although they don’t look so great that way)
This gave me Agrippa flashbacks
I’m not even gonna lie that was part of the inspiration
welp it’s just the three of us for this turbo meet n greet
umm when do you guys wanna do it
There are more people, because it was mostly organized on discord. We are also going through an activity slump rn so maybe we should wait till the holidays.
Doesn’t really work without @Flaming, and I’m currently waiting for the wiki to come back up
Have I missed anything majorly important since I left the discord?
Not really, barely anything even happens there.
we are so back on the first contacts
Just found out the wiki’s back up
In my original sector nation overview post about Tusadu from January, I stipulated that in the south would be humans and another species. I’m thinking more about this, and I might get rid of the humans. There’s a lot of humans in A1-0 and things get more interesting (especially in foreign relations) when there’s no humans in your nation. It makes things harder to write, but we have Pyxis now if I want to write about humans in space (and I like my nation in Pyxis too much to neglect it).
What do you all think?
I think humans are probably so common because they kind of function like a catalyst, making worldbuilding and roleplaying easier (especially with some of the more out-there ideas). Obviously do what you think is best, but don’t let yourself get bogged down in human stuff if you aren’t sold on it
so I’ve been working on making new ships & spacecraft for my Navy as part of the Compact Overhaul. Ships Patterns and Classes have been named for medieval pole arms and swords. Heavy Cruisers, Battlecruisers, and Battleships are named for the three core values of the fleet. Fleet Carriers are named for respected admirals, and first ministers while Dreadnoughts are named for clusters.
A couple key terms -
Class - Ship is built to an exact standard. The ship can be modified down the line, but it’s unlikely. Usually for larger ships. Ex. Arquebus Classes are all built to a specific standard and aren’t often modified.
Pattern - Ship is built within a specific specification, but is modified for a specific job. Usually for smaller ships. Ex. Partisan Pattern has three versions.
