It goes without saying that for cultural reasons Trianar probably wouldn’t be interested in participating in such a thing besides to spy on general sentiments from the other star nations, but I OOCly have no problems with that idea.

@Detroix @Stormfire10 Unrelated to previous topics, but I assume that the Confluence’s soon-to-be involvement in the RUW will most likely have an effect on the Syndicate’s dealings within the Republic, right?
Syndicate does work for money, it’s not always piracy, so it depends

Mh, I see. The piracy could definitely become an issue for the Confluence, so they would probably try to stop it unless we come up with a different course of events.
First things first, who said the Confluence would be allowed to run anti-piracy operation within the Republic. Secondly, we are kinda making things up on the spot so we will see how things end up.

You would never be able to stop piracy in it’s totality; so long as there is demand, there will be people willing to risk it all to make some heavy bank

Oh yeah, key word being “try”. Some forms of crime and piracy still exist within the Confluence, so they would definitely not be able to act on most of it outside of their territory.
That would probably be part of the deal, wouldn’t it? Giving the Republic economic and industrial aid, preventing/reducing piracy within the Republic would most likely be part of their interests, wouldn’t it?
No, it was specifically stated that military action within the Republic is off the table.

I didn’t really mean through military action. But I guess piracy will have to remain something the Confluence can only influence by funding anti-piracy operations.
