Joint Statement from Enário te Temivenzhir, Temiprizhirven te ti Krauanaet
Statement on Maritime Incident with Mitallduk Confederacy
For Immediate Release
The Krauanagaz Federation expresses deep concern over the recent maritime incident involving a Krauanagazan-flagged vessel in disputed waters with the Mitallduk Confederacy. We vehemently condemn the aggressive actions taken by Mitallduk forces in detaining 38 Krauanagazan citizens and seizing the vessel during New Year’s celebrations.
This incident, occurring in an area of contested jurisdiction, underscores the critical need for a diplomatic resolution to the longstanding maritime disputes between our nations. The Federation asserts that the detained individuals were within their rights to navigate in those waters, and their detention is a clear violation of international norms and the terms of the 1976 Ceasefire Agreement.
We appreciate the prompt release of 13 of our citizens, but we demand the immediate and unconditional return of all remaining individuals detained by Mitallduk authorities. The well-being and safety of our citizens are of utmost priority, and any harm or mistreatment they may face during their detention is unacceptable.
Secretary of State Darius Korin is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to resolve this situation peacefully. We urge Mitallduk officials to cooperate fully in facilitating the swift return of our citizens and to engage in constructive dialogue to prevent such incidents in the future.
The Krauanaet and the Federation remain committed to resolving disputes through diplomatic means and emphasize the importance of respecting international maritime norms and agreements.
