[Res.] A Resolution to Condemn the United Empire of Akarina for Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes

"Esteemed excellencies and representatives,

The substantive reason behind this proposal is understandable and justified. The solutions it proposes are in procedural matters correct and formally legal within the jurisdiction of the World Forum. However, the latter part is which limits it. All proposals which seek to uphold peace and prosperity in the world are null in practice, as they are limited to treating symptoms rather than the cause of such occurrences. The specific entity which these Resolutions address don’t matter, as each of them follow the same pattern, with Akarina merely being the current example.

I must also express criticism towards this particular proposal in its Normative-Causation and Practical-Effectual portions (covered in Sections A and C respectively).
Re-affirmation of principles ought not to be of normative nature, it ought to be mandatory and automatic. Expressing concern as a purpose does not yield anything. To merely condemn the use of WMDs by any entity is to belittle the catastrophic potential of them and banalities WMDs.
The entirety of practical solutions, which serve to manifest stated purposes, rely entirely on the good will of the Akarins officials which are the convicts causing these crimes, disturbances, and instabilities.

(…)

We are against this resolution for the above reasons. However, as a temporary solution to this particular situation, we propose calling for sanctioning of Akarinas public officials and state offices – As a compromise. Ideally, we see an IACO intervention as the best suitable solution, after which the public officials would be tried before the International Court. Alas, we do not think these are likely to gain approval."
