Yes, because no matter how smart a civilization is, simulating an entire universe from supernovas to our individual thought processes would be impossible and even if it were, what would be the point. If I wanted to I could write 10 pages or more on the simulation argument but this is the short answer.

It is the ship of Theseus. I got very confused while I was writing so I’ll write it shorter and simpler
After we accidentally rip one of our clothes and get some cloth and thread to mend it, and somebody asks when we bought the clothes, we don’t go like:
A: when did you buy this jacket?
B: well… I bought 99% of it seven years ago and the other 1% two days ago.
The damaged pieces automatically become ‘broken pieces to throw away’ while the replaced pieces become the new ‘parts of ship’.
If we build that new ship, it is not theseus’s as it was built from the ‘broken pieces to throw away’ which are not ‘parts of ship’.
BN, how would you reply to the question above?
