Hi! This message is sent to you because you were one of the TSP’s representatives in the IAC. Below is a proposal to be submitted to the TSP cabinet. Let me know what changes I should make or just agree to back it to get your country’s name written at the bottom of the final draft.
This proposal is written regarding a matter of international importance. As you might know, the 26th edition of the Independent Associations Cup, or IAC, is taking place. Several of our TSP members participated. The problem is, none of them made the Round of 16. TEP, TWP, and The Pacific all had members reach this stage. We didn’t. We find this regrettable. Due to this unfortunate situation, we request your permission to re-introduce the TSP Cup or something similar, in order to strengthen the football prowess and increase our already massive presence on the global stage.
This would help improve TSP sports RPing in three ways.
- If we reinstate the tournament, it will most likely generate more interest from potential new RPers in the region. More competitors, more chances to win competitions.
- More competitive games means more teams get ranked. Ranked teams usually perform better.
- Competitors will learn how to RP properly, and that will benefit them in future tournaments. It will also teach TSP members how to properly host events.
Now how does this benefit the region as a whole?
- This will help build connections between participating TSP members, helping reinforce the theme of Regional Unity.
- It increases participation in the region, which leads to more active members. The more that members identify with TSP, making the region more vibrant and enjoyable for all.
- Introducing this tournament could attract new member nations looking for sporting opportunities. For example, Serdtgyu initially joined this region due to one of its former puppet states participating in the TSP Olympics, which Serdtgyu wishes to participate in.
Now how will the tournament work?
OOC: A host or two will be selected for each tournament. For this we request the establishment of a selection committee, composed of sports RPing nations or nations strongly affiliated with the cup. The tournament will be operated by the hosts just as any other tournament is, using style mods, rankings, and RP bonuses. The ranking system that will be used is the KPB+ system. Entering the initial tournament, most if not all countries in TSP are unranked, meaning that results will largely come down to RP bonuses.
IC: This would be a multiversal tournament. This essentially means that this occurs in the same canon as the World Cup and other major tournaments. It will happen once each cycle, hopefully starting in this current WC 101 cycle, occurring during August 2034 IC. This however, will depend on how quickly this proposal is decided upon and implemented if approved.
What do we request of the Cabinet?
- We request permission to revive the TSP Cup, which has been dormant for years.
- We request the establishment of the selection committee, initially consisting of us who wrote/supported the proposal
- We request some sort of promotion from the cabinet by dispatch or telegram in order to ensure that there are participants.
