President Possible Victim Of Vespern Train Derailment

Soge, VP — Rescue teams have just arrived at the scene of a train derailment outside Soge. The Vespern town hosts a critical station on the Spiritus-Skierova line of the national high-speed rail network. The incident is reported to have occurred at 06:07 p.m. local time, after weeks of unrest in Vesper since Raamistau Volta Kìruna declared the province an independent republic. Victims of the derailment have yet to be identified, but records show that President Ros Bjòrandi had a ticket for the ill-fated train. Presidential Security Personnel are assisting in rescue efforts.
Sunday 20:48 It has been confirmed that the President was not aboard the train, but did have travel plans to Skierova today. Presidential Security Personnel continue to aid in rescue efforts.
Sunday 23:15 “I thought the ground would never stop shaking.” Eyewitnesses report that an explosion preceded a sudden avalanche which struck the tracks moments before the derailment.
Monday 12:00 Authorities have confirmed 24 fatalities in the Soge Derailment. Hundreds more people were injured and are receiving treatment.
Monday 12:09 President Bjòrandi has expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Tuesday 8:00 An official investigation into the cause of the crash has been launched, with national authorities calling for Vespern cooperation.
