MURDER IN ARCANA: VIGIL ATTENDEE DEAD AFTER LOCAL POLICE MISTOOK THEM FOR PROTESTERS

Protesters attacked Police in the roads as protests erupt across the city over the death of Janus McClean.

Last night, vigil attendees gathered to mourn for the death of two students from Arcana 1st State High School in the Citadel Plaza. Unfortunately, police was already put on duty there, expecting gathering of local Trade Union members who planned on protesting the Snap Election result. Mayor Frank Foreman and the City Council had passed emergency decree to maintain order in the city during the election period, including establishment of small scale curfew law back in 31st of May. Because the law has not been revoked after the election ended, the policy was authorised to capture people gathering in groups after 10.00 pm. “The teachers has tried to explain the vigil events to them, but they won’t listen,” stated the attorney of the McClean family. The police, instead, began arresting the attendees. Janus McClean, a parent of one of the students in the school, tried to avoid arrest and was beaten with a club. Unfortunately, he suffered a blunt object trauma to the head and died just one hour after the incident.

Two hours after the incident, the Mayor Office announced that they have revoked the emergency decree, but the damage has been done and protests erupts throughout the city this morning. The protesters was joined by Trade Unionists and leftists movements who criticize Mayor Frank Foreman’s policies and demanded his, as well as the Arcana Police Inspector Mayor, Roe Donburn and the policeman who did the unfortunate act to resign. No statements have been heard from the office or the City Council until now.

NEW GOVERMENT LACKS MANDATE
The new leader of the Labours and Workers Party, Hon. Vera Staunton, had proclaimed that the Forward Coalition’s election has not been democratic, considering the low turnout of voters during the procedure. Members of the Syndicalist and LWP have begun protesting in the streets in Livonia the moment the election result was announced. However, the new PM, the leader of the Liberal Party, Hon. Joseph Raleigh, had already scheduled to meet with the President to receive formal acknowledgement of his new position and had already begun appointing new cabinet members.

PEOPLE’S VOICE: THE TIME WE LIVE IN
“Livana always have a history with divisive election cycle,” stated Dr. Morgen Tarnius, a Political Study Lecturer in Carna Institute. We interviewed the well known academic and political activist yesterday after reading his article on the current political turmoil that gripped Livana to it’s core. “But what happened in the past one month is something that would be recorded in the history books generations to come, if Livana did survive these very tumultuous years,” continued Dr. Morgen. The Doctor had stated in his article that the current political upheaval in Livana was primarily caused by the previous’ government sudden change of heart to no longer pursue a neutral foreign policy. The coming of foreign companies to Livana had brought many financial gains for the state, but at the expense of local Trade Unions and small businesses who couldn’t compete with foreign expertise and products.

Dr. Tarnius then went on to explain how the low turnout in the Snap Election was caused by general confusion and also political apathy. “They never faced a Snap Election before. We always had a neat 5 year election cycles. And then suddenly, we got the drama and spectacles that happens in the Parliament, while people are getting more desperate out there. You can understand where this feeling of apathy came from.” The Doctor proclaimed that the time we currently live in would see a great transformation of the nation, or perhaps its downfall. “The test would be on Mr. Raleigh’s government to transform this country, or to return it to where it was 15 years ago when his party was in power. Either bring Livana kicking and screaming to a new age, or let it remain stagnant for good.”
