Quiet Rock: the story of its not-so-quiet success
Quiet Rock wasn’t exactly a hyped show, but it’s become a hit sensation due to its combination of strong characters, relatability and music.

By Mariya Golyunova, 2023-02-04

The Popularity of the TV Show Рок-Тихоня, or Quiet Rock, was an unexpected one. It’s ratings has been continually rising to the point where it is amongst one of the most popular shows of Kliegme. Some even call it the second “Autumn Ballad”, a legendary Kliegmean TV Show. Episode 05, which had been postponed due to the recent flood in Northern Kliegme, was met with record-breakingly high ratings when it was aired.

Many in the industry believe it is due to its uniqueness, amongst an increasingly standardizing market. The trend nowadays is the depiction of mature, relatable, and deeper themes, which, Quiet Rock shares some traits with. However, Quiet Rock’s lighthearted antics, reminiscent of early TV shows, make a show that is easy to watch. Especially when coupled with its fittingly rocking soundtrack. Said music and the quality of the show in general is deemed what made the show so popular.

For many, Quiet Rock is a fairly chill show that’s easy to watch after a long day. Due to its slice-of-life nature, it’s much more calming than the numerous types of dramas and conflicts found in modern TV shows. At the same time, it does have a degree of relatability in the characters and how they’re written, especially given the generational trend recently.

Artesia’s antipathy toward social interaction and inability to make friends is something many viewers might respond to, seeing such traits in their own lives. With the progression of Artesia and the other characters motivating the growth of individuals.

Of course, much has to be said about the series’ musical element, which is top tier. The music’s quality and the way in which musical performances are showcased are a definite selling point, especially when it comes to spreading news about the show on social media. These musical segments feel natural yet grandiose, being as bombastic as they should be without distracting from an episode’s story. Likewise, it feeds into the characters’ development and interaction, making these performances pivotal to the plot.

Kliegme and Sallodesia conduct Joint Military Exercises

by Lavr Vatutin, 2023-02-25
Kliegme and Sallodesia conducted a joint military exercise aimed at improving their cooperation and strengthening their bilateral relationship. The Exercise, named “Provyi(meaning Breakthrough)” was conducted in February 20th to 22nd in Palyatinsk okrug in the Kliegmean South.

The exercise involved the 21st Guards Mechanized Division, led by General Maior Igor Sakharov from Kliegme, and the 3rd Marine Division, led by Major General Gerald Garford, from Sallodesia. THe troops conducted joint training exercises focused on improving their tactical skills and knowledge, as well as interoperability between the two forces.

The exercise programme included the Kliegmean MILES Programme, which uses lasers and blank cartridges to simulate actual battle, was used to test the capabilities of both armies. The 21st Guards Mechanized Division was reported to have “won” the mock combat, albeit with considerable “losses”. The Training also included a simulated counter-terrorism operation, in which the troops worked together to neutralize a terrorist threat. The exercise was conducted in a realistic setting, including the use of helicopters and armored vehicles.

“The Sallodesians are great soldiers, Kliegme is lucky to have them as allies. Even at our home ground they have shown their capabilities in adapting. I hope that this training allows our soldiers to learn from them.” General Maior Igor Sakharov stated in an interview with ITAK after the training.

“Kliegme’s been more than joyful to collaborate with. I know some of my officers came down here with the interpretation to teach the Kliegmeans. Hah! I think they might have learned some new tricks from them. All I can say is that we should be thankful Kliegme isn’t on our opposite side.” Major General Gerald Garford said in the same interview.

The joint exercise was a significant step forward in Kliegme and Sallodesia’s efforts to strengthen their bilateral relationship, with Kliegme seeking to diversify its foreign partners, and Sallodesian efforts for strategic partnership in Crabry. This partnership has been welcomed by many Kliegmeans, who see it as a necessary measure to protect their country from recent instability in the South Pacific.

“Kliegme and Sallodesia share a commitment to peace and security in Crabry," said Minister of Defence Marshal Konstantin Batov in a statement. “This exercise demonstrates our ability to work together to defend against any potential threats.”

How long will a Forum for World Cooperation last without basic manners?

by Alexandr Lavrov, 2023-03-04

The World Forum will see its 6th anniversary in 15 days, as the Organisation was established in 2017, March 19th. The Forum was, according to the charter it is based upon, created to serve as a framework, facilitating multilateral discussion and agreements aiming for adopting broad consensus-based suggestions for national legislation, and created to serve as a channel for consolidating our separate resources in times of great need. However, as I read through the transcripts for the debate surrounding Resolution 18 of the World Forum, I must say that I concern the future of the World Forum, if basic manners aren’t kept between delegates, who represent nations.

The recent bill proposing WF intervention againt the Ludvillan Junta shows the degradation of the Quality of debate. During the debate, what started as the Izaakian delegate asking about the justification of invasion quickly devolved into bickering. While I believe that Izaakia had a good reason to ask about the justification of invasion as a form of intervention. However, it was unacceptable how all nations have handled the discussion. Both the Izaakian, Thalapadian, and Emeraldian delegates to the Forum have been overly aggressive towards the other, causing the forum to devolve into childish squabbles, instead of taking a logical approach to assess whether the bill is reasonable. The WF delegations have shown several logical fallacies during their debate. For example, the Rhayan delegate appeals to hypocrisy by evoking the Izaakia-Nicholas war, which was conducted by different contexts from the Ludvillian Junta’s attack on Emerald.

While it is important that thorough investigation must be held to bring justice for the ones who were killed in the blast, it is also important that neutralising a situation must come forward to it. The Ludvillian Junta, during the debate, have invaded Denverian territory ilegally, announced the creation of Concentration camps for non-Ludvillians, and other atrocities, to the point that it is getting harder to find what atrocities it has not commited. Given this situation, I believe that a study into why the Ludvillian Junta invaded Denver, why it Nuked Emerald, why it commited other atrocities, and any other whys must be made after demilitarising and deradicalising them. It is unacceptable for the global community to simply allow them to do as they please, given their record.

However, it was also unacceptable for the World Forum to devolve into a swear-fest and shouting. Such behavior not only reflects poorly on the individuals involved but also undermines the credibility and effectiveness of the WF as an organization. When delegates engage in unprofessional behavior, they demonstrate a lack of respect for their fellow representatives and the importance of the issues being discussed.

Swearing, in particular, is unacceptable in any professional setting, let alone at the WF. It is a sign of disrespect and a lack of self-control, and it undermines the ability of participants to engage in productive dialogue. If a delegate cannot express themselves without resorting to profanity, it reflects poorly on their ability to participate in constructive debate.

As representatives of their respective countries, WF delegates must show the highest level of professionalism and respect for their fellow representatives. Only then can we hope to address the pressing issues facing our world and create a more peaceful and prosperous future for all.

Nanashilo to invest 60 trillion Grivyts in the ASH district.

by Alexei Taboritsky 2023-03-16

Nanashilo will invest more than 60 trillion Gryvits over 10 years, focusing on areas where its affiliates are located. It is planning to develop an industrial ecosystem by designating regional specialized projects such as semiconductor packages and next-generation batteries.

Nanashilo Electronics Co., Nanashilo Display Co., Nanashilo SDI Co. and Nanashilo Electro-Mechanics Co. will invest a total of 60.1 Trillion Gryvits in ASH district, which includes Aloyets, Sakudereyev, and Hoshinovo Oblasts; over the next 10 years. Nanashilo said, “The purpose is to increase the competitiveness of local grassroots companies and industrial ecosystems and create high-quality jobs,” adding, “We will foster local industries to support balanced regional development.” In addition to direct investment, it will create a sustainable win-win model by fostering funds, technologies, and manpower from local companies.

By region, △ Nanashilo Electronics’ semiconductor package specialized complex (Nefirisk) △ Nanashilo Display’s advanced display cluster (Novoitrysk) △ Nanashilo SDI next-generation battery research and production facility (Raskazi) will be established in Aloyets Oblast. As collaboration with partners is important for semiconductor packaging, it can increase the overall competitiveness of domestic semiconductor-related companies. Next-generation battery facilities will play the role of “mother factory” that develops and applies advanced production technologies preemptively and spreads them to overseas production plants.

In Sakuderyev Oblast, △ Nanashilo Electro-Mechanics’ next-generation MLCC production base (Sakudereyev) △ Nanashilo Electronics’ smartphone mother factory (Chapayev) △ Nanashilo SDI’s electronic materials specialized complex (Chapayev) will be established. MLCC is a core component of electronic circuits and is called ‘the building block of electronics’ because it is included in most electronic products. In Hoshinovo Oblast, home appliances being produced at Zvezdansk businesses are planned to be expanded to focus on premium smart products to become a “global smart home appliance production hub.”

Nanashilo will also invest 3.6 trillion over 10 years in win-win programs for partner companies. It includes joint research and development with domestic partners, support for semiconductor prototype production by small and medium fabless (semiconductor design) companies, support projects for smart factory construction, and opening a “semiconductor contract department” with local universities.

Suzume, Sergey Vayersky’s return to the Box Office.

by Maria Mayerskaya 2023-03-16

image

Director Sergey Vayersky is renowned as one of the greatest Kliegmean Multifilm directors, with hits such as “Kak Vas Zobut?” and “Rebenok Pogody”, which was released in 2017 and 2019. In March 8th, The Director has released another powerful film with a slightly different narrative approach from his previous works. Vayersky, who recently spoke to ITAK about his determination to continue producing new works, is well aware that his narrative style is changing.

His new work, “Suzume” is currently available in theatres. It is a heartwarming film with a message of healing amid a story of spectacular adventure, Suzume shows that there is no right answer on how to heal, but that some wounds can only be healed by facing them head-on.

“Suzume” is all the more eye-catching in that it deals with natural disasters that Kliegme had faced in the past. The characters in the work encountered a natural disaster and lost their loved ones. The way they heal each other conveys a warm impression.

“Suzume” begins with Suzume Ioselliani, a 17-year-old girl living in a quiet village in Sakudereyev Oblast. She meets Pavel Markov, a young man traveling in search of a mysterious gate. Suzume follows Pavel and finds an old gate in the ruins of a mountain. When she opens it out of curiosity, a disaster threatens Suzume’s village. She helps Pavel close the gate to end the disaster and travels around Kliegme to stop the harm from spreading to different parts of the country. In the process, Suzume comes face to face with a traumatic childhood memory.

The film has been praised by many for its wonderful OST and Visuals, which is said to be more colourful, and more integrated into the story than in Vayersky’s previous works. In an interview, the director said that he had tried a style that differs from previous works, of which stories were tied to Rock-style Vocal theme songs. His team worked hard on bgm to lead the story only with the main character’s actions, with each bgm being more characteristic and tied into the emotions and actions of characters. Thanks to the magnificent and spectacular sound production, the audio gives a fresh and lively feeling. Vayersky’s vibrant colors and cinematography are also particularly striking in “Suzume.” Vayersky’s love for people and life itself is evident in his delicate yet strong compositions and the warm colors that permeate the screen.

As the film follows Suzume and Pavel on their journey, the narrative travels to spaces abandoned and devastated by natural disasters and offers a message of comfort to those who live with scars. Using the Great Brevero Earthquake of 2011 as a central event, the film dynamically unfolds as Suzume confronts and overcomes her own trauma.

“Suzume” was conceived as a project while Vayersky was traveling around Kliegme while reflecting on his past works, according to the director in an interview with ITAK.

“I felt that I should express the impact I felt through the large earthquakes and tsunamis, instead of continuing to depict them as metaphors,” Director Vayersky said in a press conference, “It is important to make an interesting animation, but I wanted to add meaning.”

The team behind “Suzume” had planned the project from January to March 2020, according to press releases. Because the project process coincided with the outbreak of Instability and Wars all around Kliegme, Vayersky said in an interview with ITAK that the production for “Suzume” was “less tangible,” but that “the mood of the times is indelibly etched into the script."

According to the Kliegmean Flim Administration’s integrated computer network for movie theater tickets on the 19th, “Suzume” topped the box office for 11 consecutive days, attracting more than 314,494 viewers compared to the previous day. The movie’s cumulative audience is 1,654,898. At this rate, it is likely to surpass 2 million viewers next week.

Kliegmeans vote on joining the Concordia Entente.
By Andrey Zhdanov, 2023-03-26. 07:38AM

A woman casts her vote in the 2018 Kliegme referendum. Source: Koryolovo News.

Kliegmeans go to polls Sunday to vote on whether the country should join CE. The membership is supported by most parties in parliament, with DuK turning from maintaining Neutrality to supporting the membership after a party convention last wednesday. Polls for some 21 million voters will open at 9 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. The question on the referendum ballot is: “Are you in favour of Kliegme’s entry into CE?

The referendum is advisory and not legally binding, but enough members of parliament have said they will abide by its outcome to make it decisive. President Boroshilov has also made a statment regarding the outcome that he will approve any result as it will be Kliegmeans that voted for it.
For the referendum to be valid, at least 50 percent of voters must turn out to vote and a majority of them must back the membership.

Polls have indicated that the issue is very divisive. The most recent poll shows that 52.14 percentage of Kliegmeans support the membership, barely reaching the majority. The main talking points for CE membership lies in its Free Trade Clause. Some believe that this will allow Kliegmean goods to reach larger markets, while others believe this will threaten Kliegmean economic independence, this sentiment is especially stronger in the field of Agriculture.

While Kliegme has dodged the flames of war by preserving neutrality, President Boroshilov’s government has quickly made ties with Sallodesia. The partnership with Sallodesia has developed into a Mutual Assistance Pact, which provides Kliegme with Sallodesia’s support when Kliegme is invaded by a foreign power. This too, is a talking point when discussing the membership. Supporters suggest that CE membership will significantly increase Kliegme’s capability in Self Defence, while Opponents claim that partnership with Sallodesia is enough to guarantee Kliegme’s safety.

As voting for the referendum begins in 9am, all elligible citizens of Kliegme is encouraged to vote for the future of their nation.

Mumiea gets on board the Virtual Youwatcher hype train.
By Karl Ahn, 2023-03-27 21:42pm

Virtual Youwatcher Mana Rozoviya and Governor of Mumiea Sophia Amelin

Virtual Youwatchers have taken on many unexpected jobs in recent years, from appearing on TV as panelists to entertainment correspondents. Recently, a new opportunity has come along: ambassador.

The Mumiea government appointed a new batch of tourism ambassadors on March 26, granting them responsibility for “revitalizing local communities through tourism through increasing the number of visitors to the city.” Those appointed included actor Sergey Shipenko, Sallodesian cosplayer Hakken and ballet dancer Valeriya Koryolova, but on the roster were also three animated characters represented by Vwatcher talent agency Stardays: Akyula-Tan, Yuliya Smersha and Mana Rozoviya.

“I guess this is a good choice for me to be because here I am, talking about Mumiea and stuff … and travel and stuff,” said shark-themed Vwatcher Akyula-Tan on her channel after receiving the role.

Like the fuzzy “Leniviy” mascots of the 2010s, Vwatchers are a resource that local governments are beginning to tap into for promotional purposes. The savviest prefectures got in early and created their own VTuber representatives — the first of whom was Ina Vreminskaya, who came out swinging for Vremyansk Oblast in 2018 by extolling the virtues of the oblast via Youwatch.

The move to recruit three Vwatchers to help promote tourism in Mumiea speaks to just how big the industry has become in Kliegme. Governor of Mumiea Sophia Amelin has a track record of collaborating with influencers to spread her messages, and working alongside the nation’s Vwatchers is just another sign that someone on her team is keeping up with Kliegmean subcultures.

What Team Amelin may not realize, though, is that the tourism appointments align with broader growth in the VWatching sector. A report by the Market Research Project that came out last year predicted the virtual Youwatching industry to grow in the decade ahead, with an increase in revenue coming from abroad.

Constitutional Amendment and more proposed in President Boroshilov’s address to the Federal Assembly.
By Andrey Zhdanov, 2023-0512. 07:38AM

President Boroshilov making an address to the Federal AssemblySource: Strelna Office.

President Alexei Boroshilov has used his annual state-of-the-nation speech to call for broad changes to the constitution that would strengthen either the parliament or the president’s powers depending on how one would view the proposed changes.

In an address to Kliegme’s two-chamber parliament – the Federal Assembly and the regional governors,-- Boroshilov said the country’s constitution should be amended, including giving the State Duma – the lower house of parliament – the right to name cabinet ministers and the prime minister, a power that currently belongs to the president.

At the same time, Boroshilov stated that Kliegme must remain a “strong presidential republic,” with the president retaining powers such as the right to dismiss the prime minister and cabinet ministers, as well as naming top defense and security officials.

“This will increase the role and significance of the country’s parliament,” Boroshilov said.
“Given that the proposed reforms concern significant changes to the political system, the work of legislative, executive, and judicial authorities, I believe it is necessary to hold a plebiscite on the entire package of the proposed amendments to the Kliegmean Constitution,” Boroshilov added without specifying any date for a vote.
Boroshilov also suggested an increased role for an advisory body called the State Council. The council, which is currently chaired by Boroshilov, comprises the governors of Kliegme’s federal regions. Boroshilov said it had proved to be “highly effective in coordinating the federal administration”.

Who is Kliegme’s New Prime Minister, Nikolai Kalimov?.
By Mikhail Vinogradov, 2023-05-15. 09:12PM

Prime Minister Nikolai Kalimov.

As the Kliegmean field of Politics discuss the proposed constitutional amendments and its effects, many also turn their attention to the aftermath of the resignation of Kalinina’s Cabinet. As of now, Kalinina only resigned from the seat of Prime Minister, retaining her role as the deputy chair of the State Council. Her just-in-time resignation also shows that the President and ex-PM have planned this political maneuver out. A question remained however, who was going to replace Honoka’s role as PM?

While many had different ideas on who should be the next PM, not many were thinking of Nikolai Kalimov, the “Historian MP”.

Nikolai Kalimov, renowned for his contributions to Kliegmean history, brings a wealth of academic knowledge and an analytical approach to the position of Prime Minister. With a distinguished career spanning several decades, Kalimov has established himself as one of the country’s foremost experts on Kliegmean history, specializing in the nation’s political, cultural, and socio-economic development.

The decision to appoint Kalimov has generated significant interest and raised eyebrows both within Kliegme and on the international stage. The appointment reflects President Boroshilov’s commitment to bringing in fresh perspectives and expertise to address the nation’s challenges.

While some critics have voiced concerns about Kalimov’s lack of experience in governing, others argue that his deep knowledge of Kliegme history and his ability to interpret complex historical patterns will prove invaluable in addressing the country’s issues.

As Prime Minister, Nikolai Kalimov faces the arduous task of striking a delicate balance between historical insights and contemporary challenges. The nation will eagerly watch as he navigates the intricate path ahead, with hopes that his appointment will bring about positive changes and propel Kliegme toward a brighter future.

How a Streamer and his friends raised 550K Gryvits for those suffering from immunodeficiency
*By Sergey Bunachenko, 2023-06-19. 7:22PM

Kliegmean Live Streamer and Voice Actor Karl Kornilov

To the average passerby, Karl Kornilov looked like an unfortunate cyclist caught in torrential rain.

To the tens of thousands tuning in from around the world to his livestream, however, “KoshkaVA” as Kornilov is known online, was a man on a mission as he rode the entire perimeter of Sallodesia, from Carlchester to Port Hudson, with an array of streaming devices hanging off him and his bicycle.

Throughout numerous 500 meter hill inclines, technical streaming issues, bicycle accidents and WcDonald’s pit stops, 19,000 of Kornilov’s fans as they are affectionately known, stayed with him for over eight hours a day via on-screen chat. They participated in banter, stream shenanigans and most of all, donated toward the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) that has helped Kornilov’s friend and fellow streamer TungstenSeolchi with her long-term illness.

At the end of the nine-day ordeal, Kornilov and cycling partner Pyotr Weitmann(of the Abroad in Sallodesia YouTube channel) conquered over 1300 kilometers and, together with their online communities, raised more than Half a Million Gryvits for Charity.

The initial goal for Cyclethon was $500k, and it was promptly broken on day 9 while he was in the middle of the day’s bike ride. The content creator celebrating the achievement by shouting at the top of his lungs, in the middle of a quaint suburb. Saying in his stream post, “this honestly was really physically demanding on us and pushed us to our limits, but we did it and raised a s*** ton of money for IDF.”

Kliegme designates 7 ‘specialised complexes’ for strategic, advanced industries

Kliegme announced a decision Thursday to designate seven “specialised complexes” for the semiconductor, display and secondary battery industries in major cities across the country to offer a package of incentives for private investment in a bid to nurture the advanced sectors as a future growth engine.

The country also decided to designate five additional specialised complexes dedicated to materials, parts and equipment for key industries, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

Under the plan, the government will make two specialized complexes for the chip industry – one in Yalyushin and Vremyansk regions and the other in Gumi; four zones for secondary batteries in Chapayev, Polkovo, Suzuka and Oyvetsk; and the remainder in the Chonansk and Amyel areas for the display sector.

The venues are where private companies vowed to make a combined investment of 614 trillion Gryvits ($485.1 billion) by around 2026.

Of them, the envisioned complex in the cities of Yalushin and Vremyansk, both east of Seoul, is meant to support 56.2 billion Grv of investment in memory and system semiconductors by Nanashilo Electronics Co., KG hynix Inc. and other chipmakers by 2042.

The complex in Gumi, Tsunoko Oblast, is expected to become a major base for core semiconductor components, such as silicon wafer and substrates.

KG Siltron Co., ZhKh Innotek Co. and other firms plan to make an investment worth 4.7 trillion Grv combined by 2026, according to the ministry.

By establishing four complexes for the battery industry, the country aims to create a value chain from minerals processing to supplying cathode materials, producing cells and recycling, and to develop next-generation batteries.

Major battery makers, including ZhKh Energy Solution Ltd., ZhKh Chem Ltd., KG On Co., and POSCO Future M Co., operate or plan to build their production facilities and business centers in the four aforementioned regions by investing 30 trillion Grv there combined by around 2027, according to the ministry.

The designation of Chonansk and Amyel, central Kliegme, as a special zone for the display sector came as Nanashilo Display Co. and other smaller firms run major facilities with advanced infrastructure and plan to pour some 17.2 trillion Grv there by 2026, it added.

“The government will extend tailored, comprehensive supportive measures for companies in the complexes by removing tricky regulations and offering tax cuts and infrastructure and administrative support,” the ministry said in a press release.

A total of 21 cities and provincial regions applied for the establishment of specialized complexes, and the seven were chosen in consideration of corporate investment plans and the balanced national development, the ministry said.

The government also decided to designate eight universities across the country, including Mumiea National University in Mumiea and Bisei National University in the northern port city of Bisei, as leading institutions to nurture talent for the advanced, strategic industries and provide them with state funds of 54 billion Grv in 2023 alone.

In a separate meeting, the government announced a decision to designate an additional five special complexes for materials, equipment and components regarding semiconductors, biopharmaceuticals, and future vehicles in Gawrnov, Borossirk, Osminogorsk, Bisei and Asakovo to extend various incentives for corporate investment and activities.

The five zones are where related companies have vowed to make a fresh corporate investment of 6.7 trillion, the ministry said.

In February 2021, the government first designated five specialized industry complexes in Yalushin, Chuikovo and other regions across the country.

MoD approves mass production of Projekt 682 MBT as “T-23A”
2023-08-06, Vsevold Romanov

image

Projekt 682 Pre-Production Model demonstrating its ISU capability

After 12 years of development, and 3 years of preparation, Sovremenny Rotem’s Projekt 682 has been declared fit for service by the Defence Acquisition Programme Administration on August 5th. The MX-2 development project, which began in 2008 and ended in 2023, cost a total of 452.6 billion Gryvits over 15 years. The Ministry of Defence has ordered 372 of Projekt 682 under the Identification “T-23A”.

Projekt 682 boasts a clean sheet design with a number of advanced features. It has little in common with the current T-18 and other older Kliegmean tanks. The Tank, according to data provided by the MoD is said to be superior to all of Kliegme’s current Armoured units, especially in terms of survivability and maneuverability.

Using an In-arm Suspension Unit (ISU), a semi-active suspension system, it can tilt the chassis or lower the overall height by 40 cm This allows the Projekt 682 to “sit”, “stand” and “kneel”, as well as “lean” towards one side or a corner. “Sitting” gives the tank a lower profile and offers superior handling over roads. “Standing” gives the vehicle higher ground clearance for maneuverability over rough terrain. “Kneeling” augments the angular range in which the tank’s gun barrel can elevate and depress, allowing the vehicle to fire its main gun downhill as well as engage low-flying aircraft more effectively.

This tank uses both modular composite armor of undisclosed type and Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) blocks. The is also completed with an active protection system, utilising an improved version of the system used in the T-18M. Romordians to be settled in Southeastern FD.
* 50% of the 2022 Budget Surplus to be used for project.
By Olga Min, 2023-12-17 12:05pm

A bill has been passed in the Duma on Friday by 299-151, allocating 50% of the 24 Trillion Budget Surplus from last year to settling Romordian refugees in the Southeastern Federal District(SEFD).

Proponents of the bill, such as Minister of Internal Affairs Otto Hoffman, has commented that it is a humane measure that benefits both Kliegme and the refugees, while opposition, mostly from the DuK right and the LDPK argues that the status of the refugees that have gone to Eflad is not set in stone, and that a settlement programme in the low-populated Kliegmean Southeast can drastically shake the demographics in the region.

As of now, Kliegme has been using Foreign Aid budget to support Romordian Refugees in Kliegme. With this new bill, up to 12 Trillion Grivnas(9 Billion Dollars) may be used to settle Romordians in Kliegme, a significant boost in budget compared to the 4 Trillion Grivnas allocated to Foreign Aid.

Local Polling suggest that the mostly rural population of the SEFD are mixed, but slightly leaning to favourable regarding the new bill. Kliegme’s Rural communities have been experiencing a significant deficit in population, which is why they welcome the Romordians. However, concerns remain regarding cultural differences.

Federal General Elections Campaign begins.
Campaigns for the 2024 Legislative Elections have just begun, let’s dive into see what’s at stake.
By Aleksandr Konovalov, 2024-06-01 12:58am

Kliegme will be holding a General Election in July 9th. With President Boroshilov’s approval ratings at an all time high, meanwhile rumours floating around that the Liberal Democratic Party of Kliegme, currently in Coalition with the Democratic Union-Almanische Volkspartei political alliance in the Duma, may not renew the political alliance for this election, it is expected that this year’s Legislative Elections will be tense.

The Ruling Party, the Democratic Union of Kliegme, or the DU for short, has vowed to domestically continue the current approach in governance, maintaining the traditional Values of Community in Kliegme. More specifically, Party Leader and Prime Minister Nikolai Kalimov has stated that the party is aiming to reach the goals of a free, secure, prosperous Kliegme by supporting Community Building Initiatives, reducing bureaucracy, strengthening SMEs, and subsidies for the Electronics Industry. In Foreign Policy, it has promised to expand cooperation with the CE, which Kliegme has joined last year. All in all, it is expected that the DU will keep the current course of supporting President Boroshilov’s policies, due to his popularity.

The biggest opposition to the DU-AVP-LDPK alliance in the current Duma came in the form of the Social Democratic Party of Kliegme. The SPK, having recently absorbed the Green Party of Kliegme, has turned more to the left regarding its policies, advocating for total shutdown of Nuclear Energy in Kliegme, and a call for reforming the Kliegmean Social Market Economy into a true Welfare Economy, and immigration reform. However, this leftwards shift has been somewhat balanced out according to some as LGBTQ policy was again left blurry. In Foreign Affairs, the SPK represents a more traditional approach to Kliegme’s foreign policy.

The “A Just Kliegme-For the Future” Party, more commonly referred to as AJK, is a Left-Wing Populist party, most popular for its die-hard adherance to UBI.

The Liberal Democratic Party of Kliegme, rumoured to be not renewing the Political Alliance with the Governing Coalition for this election, is for a Classical Liberal approach to Governance. Under the Current Government, the LDPK has played a role in promoting enterpreneurship and innovation, advocating for a focus on Digital Infrastructure.

In recent years, the Party of Growth has proven to be a strong rival for the LDPK. Running on a similar Liberal platform as with the LDPK, the PG differs in its approach to governance in that it is for simplifying tax codes instead of reducing it significantly, funding research and innovation to maintain Kliegme’s competitiveness in the world, and decentralisation.

Ruling Party wins in Landslide amid Refugee Crisis.
The Democratic Union-Almanische Volkspartei bloc has won 175 seats in the 300-seat State Duma.
By Yevgeny Rogozin, 2024-07-10 2:58 pm

President Alexei Boroshilov’s ruling party clinches a victory in the General elections, which is set to give it an upper hand in pushing ahead with its agenda as the country faces an unprecented Refugee Crisis and a task of integrating into the Concordia Entente.

In the quadrennial election, which was held on July 9th on a Tuesday, the Democratic Union of Kliegme and its sister party the Almanische Volkspartei(TL: Alman People’s Party) secured a combined 175 seats in the 300-seat State Duma, according to data from the National Election Commission (NEC) on Thursday.

This is nearly double the 105 seats obtained by the main opposition Social Democratic Party of Kliegme. It also marks the biggest majority any party has claimed since the 1968 elections.

The elections, held in the midst of Kliegme’s Refugee Crisis, was seen as a referendum on President Boroshilov, who has three more years in office.

The prospects for President Boroshilov’s party did not look good in 2023. The Kliegmean economy has slowed, Relations with Termina have cooled and news headlines were dominated by a series of foreign policy criticisms, including one caused by a Phrasing Error by the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which resulted in criticsm from the CE.

But the government’s handling of the Romordian War in neighbouring NAGB and the Terminan Package Incidents, and the most recent Shai Kong deal has changed public sentiment, as illustrated in recent polls in which Boroshilov’s approval rating shooting up to over 50 percent.

The DUK’s victory will enable Boroshilov to manage state affairs stably during the rest of his single, five-year term. It will prop up Boroshilov’s reform initiatives, including the reform of education and community building initiatives.
Boroshilov thanked the country’s “great people” for “giving strength to a government that’s fighting desperately to overcome a national crisis.”

More than 17 million Kliegmeans voted on Wednesday. When combined with the 7.8 million early and mailed-in votes, turnout was 66.2 percent, the highest since 71.9 percent turnout in the1992 general election, the National Election Commission said.

The Speaker is to be elected from the 175 MPs of the DuK, leaving the ruling party with 174 seats. With 174 seats, the ruling bloc would be able to fast-track the passage of bills without support from other parties.
Observers say it would be capable of “doing everything” in parliament except constitutional revision, which requires at least 200 votes on the floor.

It would enable the DUK to avoid political squabbles in pushing for key reform bills, unlike during the outgoing session of the National Assembly.

On the other side of the political spectrum, The Social Democratic party admitted that it has failed to win over voters, though it highlighted the government’s failure to address the issues Kliegme is facing and stressed the need to keep the DUK in check.

Party leader Dmitry Kaminsky apologized over the result.

“I acknowledge that the SDP’s change (in rhetoric) was insufficient. I feel apologetic for asking (the voters) to vote for a party that did not have the basics right.”

At the same time, he asked the people to continue their support to the embattled party.

“Even if (the party) is insufficient and not likable, people need to keep the main opposition party alive for the country’s future. I sincerely ask so.”

Kliegme celebrates Victory Day with traditional grandeuer and new guests
The Victory Day parade in Gawrnov was joined by the delegation from the Frost Empire in a show of solidarity.

An annual military parade was held in Gawrnov’s Akula Square as Kliegme celebrates victory over the Frost Empire in the Kliegmean War of Independence. Known in Kliegme as Victory Day, July 17th was when the Frost Empire and the Kliegmean United Front signed the Mumiea Accords, which had the Frost Empire withdraw its “Krabry Expedition Force”, officially ending the Kliegmean war of Independence, which had escalated into an all-out war between the two states in 1956.

This year’s Victory Day Parade, celebrating the 64th anniversary of the Kliegmean Victory, was joined by delegations from the CE and Kliegme’s partners. Amidst these foreign officials were those from the Frost Empire.

The Victory Day Agency, a joint agency by both the MoD and MoFA, responsible for coordinating the parades, had worked day and night to invite the Frost Empire and convince the Kliegmean population of the invitation. This diligency and the cordial actions from the Frost Empire has made the Frost Empire’s participation in celebrations possible.

Since 2023, when Kliegme officially began its CE activities, Kliegme has launched an active campaign to show the solidarity of the alliance by inviting the CE to its Victory Day celebrations. Such campaign was deemed successful in Kliegme’s image from an uncertain ally, caused from misunderstandings during the approval process, into a state with a firm commitment to the CE.

Traditional guests to the Victory Day Celebrations were not left out in the shift of tone of the parade. Termina, which had supplied Kliegme with much needed ammunition and manpower and acted as a mediator between Frost and Kliegme using its economic ties with the two nations, Weisserstein, which had helped armed the United Crabryan Duchy, the predecessor to the Alman Autonomous Oblast, were all invited and their delegations were met with much fanfare.

The Victory Day Parade itself was mostly in line in terms of itinerary with previous parades despite the light drizzle, but had major differences in detail. The Immortal Regiments leading the parade were joined in their memorial of veterans by the representatives of Frost Veteran Organisations, who joined the parade as part of the Frost delegation. The handshake between Yeongjin Choi, the head of the Immortal Regiments, and Heiji Onizuka, his Frost counterpart, was met with cheers from the crowd and emphasised the reconciliatory nature of this year’s parade.

11,000 soldiers from the Kliegmean Army, Rovsgvardiya, and Cadets marched through the Akula Square shortly after the Immortal Regiments. More than 190 pieces of Military Hardware rolled through the square as well in a show of technological growth and military achievements since 1960. The newest Main Battle Tank of the Kliegmean Army, the T-23A led the armoured motorcade.

From Missile Platforms to IFVs, the armoured motorcade showcased the the range of its military personnel and equipment to the world. Following the showcase of Kliegme’s military capabilities was the military delegation to the parade from partner nations. The 3rd Marine Battalion, part of the Sallodesian Marine Division with the same number, led the march.

Despite slight controversies due to disputes regarding base construction and increased surveilance, the Sallodesian military presence in Kliegme is more or less seen as a success by the Kliegmeans due to the boon the soldiers on leave became to the local economy.

The Red Skulls,a veteran aid group that has its roots in a cavalry unit of the Crabryan Ducal Corps, chose to march with Weissersteiner soldiers this year, as part of their heritage as Kliegmean Almans. Kliegme and Weisserstein’s relations, while traditionally amicable, had significantly improved ever since the Kaiser’s visit in 2023.

The Terminans, the largest economic partner of Kliegme who played a key role in Kliegmean Victory, was represented by the 44th motorised battalion of the Terminan Security Forces.

President Boroshilov’s speech that had started the parade empasised reconciliation and solidarity between the nations of the world. Such sentiment was shared amidst the attendants and Kliegme as a whole. Many veterans who had fought the Frosts, saw their presence as evidence of the Frost Empire showing its respect to Kliegme. “It was absolutely propser to have invited the Frost Empire in the celebrations,” stated Pavel Yefron who recalled that he was captured but then escaped to join a Partisan unit in Vremyansk. “The Frost have come to respect our Valour that won our independence. I share that sentiment. I fought Frosts who came as occupiers. I welcomed and will welcome Frosts who came as friends.”

Shizuka Nakiri, daughter of Shinji Kazama, an officer in the Frost Occupation Forces, stated her father’s “love” for the Kliegmean soldiers he had faced during the war.
“My father valued valour and honour more than his fellow officers. He was kind of like the medieval knight we read in stories. After coming home, he told stories of how he fought soldiers who would not surrender when their unit was surrounded, but instead disperse into the woods to act as guerilla fighters. He liked to joke about if the Frost Empire had soldiers with such willpower, the Frost Empire could easily take over the world.”

The Parade had a poignant aspect this year, however, as the Kliegmean Society comes to terms with the fact that the numbers of the war veterans are dwindling.
“Time has great power.” President Boroshilov said. “But its power is not a match for human memory, our memory. We shall never forget the soldiers who fought on the front, the men and women who fought the occupation, who worked in factories to produce supplies for the front, who underwent suffering unthinkable in our time.”

FiHami’s anti-Shark campaign reminds Kliegmeans of a similar, ill-fated campaign that ex-president Pavlov initiated.
* Infamous for being Pavlov’s biggest failure, the Three Pests Campaign resulted in environmental crisis and his government’s defeat in elections
* Kliegmeans draw comparisons between it and FiHami’s anti-Shark campaign.

While Kliegmean officials have refused to comment on the FiHami war against sharks, many Kliegmeans who experienced the 70s and 80s that their policy reminds them of the “Three Pests Campaign”, in which the first president of Kliegme Dmitry Pavlov and his cabinet implemented rather extreme measures that ultimately resulted in a minor environmental crisis.

The Three Pests Campaign called for the eradication of mosquitoes, rats, and sparrows. Rats, carriers of diseases with the potential to transmit illnesses to humans, were deemed a significant hazard to public health in both rural and urban areas. Mosquitoes, particularly those breeding in stagnant water, were identified as carriers of diseases such as malaria, posed a direct threat to public health. Sparrows, held responsible for consuming substantial quantities of grain, were targeted to address concerns about food shortages and protect agricultural yields.

While the eradication campaign of the former two “pests” resulted in a improvement of hygeine and reduce in disease transmission as intended, the overusage of pesticides resulted in environmental pollution. However, pollution would rather seem preferrable compared to what happened in Kliegme as a result of this “war against Sparrows.” Due to his prestige as a war hero and a national unifier, the people of Kliegme were rather enthusiastic in fulfilling Pavlov’s vision. As a result, the sparrow population in Kliegme all but collapsed, and without a predator, more grain was lost due to pests than ever, resulting in a major agricultural crisis. Thankfully, this crisis did not manifest into a famine as Kliegme desparately signed a trade deal with Myria, importing grain and other agricultural products to replace the collapsed Kliegmean agricultural sector.

Historians unanimously agree that the failure of the Three Pests Campaign is, ironically, what cemented Kliegmean democracy, as Pavlov’s government was replaced after 25 years of governance(including the Dominion period), by his opposition in the form of the Social Democratic Party and its leader, Nikolay Yusupov. Despite its adherance to democracy, the DUK government all but ruled as the sole political power in Kliegme due to Pavlov’s prestige. However, with the failure tarnishing Pavlov’s reputation, Kliegmeans began to prioritise policy rather than politicians. With Pavlov announcing on radio that he congratulates Yusupov for his victory in the elections, a fundamental concept in democracy, the peaceful transition of power, had become a precedent for all future Kliegmean governments to follow.

The Campaign also resulted in the growth of the Kliegmean Chemical industry, as Kliegmean chemical plants were made to supply pesticides and rat poison for the campaign. Afterwards, the chemical industry was made to produce artificial fertiliser, in order to heal the crippled agricultural sector of Kliegme. Despite this effort, it took Kliegme 17 years to return to pre-Campaign levels of agricultural production, which occured in 1993. The environmental effects of the campaign remain in Kliegme to this day, with the Kliegme hosting the least amount of sparrows, mosquitoes and rats in Crabry.

One Kliegmean citizen, who requested anonymity due to him being at a beach despite having called a sick day at work, stated his opinion. “I’m pretty sure killing sharks is just a waste of tax-payer money. And look at FiHami. They aren’t exactly in a position where they can just waste money around like that. That being said, watching it unfurl from a distance is rather hilarious.”
