The current Minecraft “controversy” is beyond stupid.
Some people are calling Minecraft “woke” and indoctrinating kids into… what is this?.. learning about activism in history, primarily with black activists in the United States?
For those not in the know, there is a free DLC for Minecraft Education Edition where it showcases some activists such as Gandhi and Rosa Parks and their actions that influenced history. This was released a year ago, but a few days ago, Mojang wanted to promote it again for Black History Month. The reception did not go well.
Some people started to make racist remarks, mainly to black people.
Similarly, the studio who made Dragon Ball, got a response like that, with Frieza shown in the replies, who (IIRC) is portrayed as a racist antagonist.
This is honestly beyond stupid. People get upset over the most mundane things. Some are calling it “indoctrination”. Into what? History?
I did see a video against the comments made on those posts and some creators supporting the comments against the free DLC. They argued that Minecraft is a sandbox game, which it is, and the people who made that DLC wanted to make their own thing, in a sandbox game, where they can do anything.
