Creation of an OWL Subcategory

We’re currently transitioning OWL votes to the forums rather than holding them on discord so more people can easily engage with them. To facilitate the transition could the following be enacted:

Please create an OWL forum group and put me and @eternalraven213 as owners of the group so we may add and remove members as needed.

Please create an OWL subcategory in NationStates Discussion Centre named “OWL Evaluation Table”

The OWL Category should be restricted so that only members of the new OWL group and the Cabinet group can make topics within the category, however anyone should be able to post within existing topics.

The OWL and Cabinet groups should have the ability to edit posts within the category so that way we may adjust the topic posts, the topic’s name, and the tags as needed.

The following tags should be created and their use restricted to only in the OWL subcategory. Each line of tags should be mutually exclusive.

  • OWL-Vote
  • GA-Resolution, SC-Resolution
  • For, Against, Abstain
  • Passed-Resolution, Failed-Resolution, At-Vote-Resolution, At-Quorum, Gathering-Approvals, Awaiting-Submission

I’m happy to answer an questions, to clarify I unknowingly left ambiguous, or to change tracks if there’s anything that isn’t feasible.

Thanks

Almost all of our (public) category names are self-describing. What does “OWL Evaluation Table” mean?

It’s meant to be a fun acronym (OWLET) while still being fairly literal even if not immediately obviously so. A more obviously descriptive name would be “OWL Voting Floor”. It will be a category purely to hold OWL’s votes on what recommendation the region should adopt and how the delegate should vote. I would prefer OWLET if possible, but will settle for the latter (possibly temporarily while we brainstorm if there would be any better names) if there’s a hard veto on “OWL Evaluation Table”.

I have created the category as “OWL Voting Floor.” The primary function of categories is categorization to keep topics organized and functions intuitive (including for new users).

Unused tags may be automatically pruned by the system. You should already be able to create new tags as needed.

Please feel free to reply here with any additional requests or corrections. Thanks!
