A miner incident (Rehy-Galactya first contact) [0 BBT]

”Interesting, most interesting. Your military is staggeringly enormous, yet you don’t seem to possess an aggressive or authoritarian behavior at all. I assume your nations are quite… focused on defending themselves then. Although, I wonder why that is. Did your people have to face many external threats during their expansion through the stars?"

Ku-dyko changed the hologram to a timeline:
“Rehy is a Rehy.”
Do-pilot Desysy: “That probably didn’t translate very well.”
Ku-dyko worded the statement differently, attempting to get the sentence to translate better: “Rehy means ‘Collected Military Alliance’ as it was originally so. Rehy was formed to protect smaller nations.”
“Our nature is of more influence by The Ssca dispute. For about 30’000 years Ssca caused the Ssca dispute. This ended 7’153 BBT, after 51 years for Cold War and 10 years for The Third Ssca War. 51 years for Cold War is the reason why we are in space.”
“A few hours ago I said ‘We now are recovering as Ssca has been gone for about 2’000 years. We now ready our selves to confront any future such threats.’ This is the answer.”

”Mhh… I see. Well, I have to admit that I am very surprised and happy to see a nation that doesn’t harbor an excessively jingoistic behavior regardless of their previous history of hardship and conflict."

”It also surprises me to see that the Ssca dispute has been ongoing for such a long time. Tell me, how long ago did your people first leave their home planet?"

Ku-dyko: “In 7’213 BBT Screea transferred the Defence Defence headquarters to Ki Sca-scrscr class ship Deky, we entered space before The Third Ssca War…Captain He do you know when we first entered space?”

Captain He: “8’434 BBT. Reik sent a space station into space to orbit Ruka.”

A engineer from across the table pipes up, making a deep rattling noise: “Then they tried to divided Scayikra with borders. And called Sluea terrorists. Then collapsed.”

Do-pilot Desysy: “Reik did a dumb happened 400 years earlier.”

Engineer: “Doesn’t change what they did.”

Individual next to the engineer: “Doesn’t change that Reik first put our people in space-“

Ku-dyko makes a loud beak clack, and they settle down: “Back on topic.”

”Our original - and now extinct - baseline species first entered orbit around our home planet little over 9700 years ago, but the truly significant efforts and operations only began following the Foundation of the Empire, 9698 standard years ago."

”Also, would any of you be able to tell me a bit more about Rehy’s extension through space? If it’s not a problem, I’d like to also know how your systems and planets are developed, as in, how much infrastructure do they have both on surface and in orbit, if you carry out any form of planetary engineering, and if you happen to have any large megastructures. I’ll tell you about Galactya’s side of things too, of course."

Ku-dyko pulls up a map

“Rehy doesn’t have any mega structures. We believe they’d be of target if we got attacked. Instead we have a lot of smaller bases and out posts. The planets on this map are only ones of significance, there are lots more.
Planetary military bases are heavily defended. They are where all military ships can doc, there’s docs in space and on land.
Our largest ship class is Ki Sca-scrscr, they are 20km long. We have 2, one is Deky, the Defence Defence’s headquarters.”

Co-pilot Desysy: “We terraform, as iv mentioned. Obviously, we only terraform planets that need it: industrial and mining planets are not terraformed. Some planets are not used for anything, they are either left untouched for study or used for more more “aggressive” military training.”

There’s a brief silence.

Captain He: “Your allowed to talk, guys.”

The crew begins talking:
“Planets are developed by workers like us. We agree on developing one, then get overseen by the rest of the union, then do what we have to. The government oversees anything military.”

“All of our used planets have docs, on land and in orbit. Docs also help do communications.”

“The amount of infrastructure depends on the planet. Lots of them look less inhabited than they are because all the housing is underground. I think the planet with most infrastructure is Deeroo, the military base.

“Ship construction facilities are the largest buildings we have, for obvious reasons. Recycling plants are also large, as they store a lot of stuff. Ra Da i’s recycling plant is the largest, it is of 20 square km.”

”Megastructure construction is much more widespread and intensive in the Galactyan Empire, although smaller orbital habitats still remain the most common in terms of both numbers and distribution. The most common Megastructures are the smallest ones, such as O’Neill Cylinders, Bernal Spheres, Diskworlds, Bishop Rings, and even McKendree Cylinders. Dyson Swarms of varying sizes are similarly present in almost all systems throughout the Inner and Middle Quadrants, as well as in some systems of the Outer ones."

”Our worlds, be it planets or moons, are also heavily infrastructured, and almost all of them possess spaceports or other surface-to-orbit transport systems of some kind. Planetary-engineering is quite common during the colonization of a new system, but simple para-engineering or building shielded and interior habitats is just as common too. However, only a fraction of our population lives on planets, and most of it lives on orbital habitats and virchworlds."

”Currently, the largest megastructure we have is the Niuithveh Ringworld, which is going to reach completion in a couple of decades. It’s 22 Astronomical Units in diameter, and tens of thousands of kilometers tall. When fully completed, it will possess a surface area tens of millions of times bigger than any planet. It’s construction is being powered by a large series of Dyson Swarm Shells and Starlifting Arrays around it’s central star, Niuthveh, that fuel multiple arrays of Conversion Furnaces and Deep Well Industrial Zones."

”Here’s how it will look upon full completion. It’s also speculated that the central Dysons will be converted in a Matryoshka Brain whenever an Archailect is assigned to take care of it."

The Rikeuninerd are quiet in shock, there not exactly surprised, they where bound to find a powerful nation like this oneday, but non the less such megastructures are mind boggling to them.

One of them asks: “Do you have public transport?”
