[2510.AB] Streamlining Legislator Applications

Okay, I still think this is an awkward point in the application process. Here’s a new draft.

1. Legislator Status Requirements

(1) Members of the Coalition are eligible to attain legislator status if:

1. they are citizens of the Coalition at the time of and during their application for legislator status; and
2. the Chair of the Assembly does not opine that they are seeking legislator status in bad faith.

(2) To retain legislator status once granted, legislators must:

1. remain citizens of the Coalition; and
2. meet the Assembly voting requirement.

2. Legislator Applications

(1) An application for legislator status must include at least:

1. include or be contained within a link to their accepted or pending citizenship application, and
2. include any relevant updates to the information contained within their citizenship application that changed since the application was made.

We could theoretically have a more flexible system for “add-ons” to citizenship applications in the way we used to have a unified application for joining the Assembly and joining ministries, but I am fine leaving that to future iteration. I’m not sure it really provides much benefit given we’d basically just use it for legislator applications only.
