[2446.AP] Oct 2024 Chair Resolution

Bumping this.

Are you going to do this soon?

@Welly, do you intend to stand for the position of Chair?

I will have a post published detailing my plans for another term later on today/tonight.

Introduction

Hello my fellow legislators, I come to you today to bring you my vision for another smaller term if re-appointed Chair once more by this great Assembly. I wonā€™t take up much of your time. I have a few ideas I would like to share with you all, but, I donā€™t expect this to be a long term. (subtle hint at a term ending in mid-January).

Deputies & Involvement

To help with the workload, and to ensure votes are opened on time, and results are published quickly. I would be looking at appointing another Deputy to work alongside @Welly, and potentially filling the office of the Clerk once more, Iā€™ll be assigning each deputy a project to work on during the course of the term. Alongside showing them the inner workings of the Assembly, and teaching them all there is to know with regards to the day-to-day work of the Assembly and its operations.

Communication

With State of the Assembly addresses each month, and both the Gazette and Bi-Weekly Briefings, I will be working on ensuring that these important communication platforms and kept up-to-date and correct as much as possible, with the appointment of further deputies, I am hopeful that they will be able to assist in this goal, and ensure the smooth and efficient publication of posts for these communication channels.

Openness & Impartiality

During my tenure as Chair, and Deputy Chair before that. I have strived to remain as impartial and open as possible, if re-appointed to another term as Chair. I promise to uphold and continue this. It is in my view that remaining as impartial and open as possible, is in the best interest of this Assembly and its members.

aOps (Formatting Tool)

Iā€™m happy to inform that a new formatting tool for posts and content within the Assembly has be finished! The tool has been up and running for the past few months, but, Iā€™ll tell you this. It makes life so much easier! I have a few more ideas for this tool, such as improving the operation for creating new votes and generating vote results, the State of the Assembly formatting function, etc. Iā€™ll hopefully get around to implementing them in the coming weeks and months.

Ice Cream, Pie or Cake?

Cake :cake: obviously?!

Closing statement

Thank you for reading! I hope you found this brief term outline useful and informative, as I mentioned earlier, I donā€™t expect this term to be as full-on as my last two terms in office. If you have any questions at all, please donā€™t hesitate to ask below!

Yours faithfully,

With immense apologies for my delayed response, and with thanks to Henn for the nomination, I must decline this time around. Unfortunately, RL has been extremely busy lately, which is why I havenā€™t been around nearly as much as I would like. And while things are finally starting to let up a bit, I plan to spend the next few months focused on my existing NS projects: working through Sunshine Act releases, putting together a few legislative proposals, and being a more dependable Deputy Chair so that BlockBuster doesnā€™t end up shouldering almost all of the Assembly workload.

I of course support BlockBusterā€™s re-election (or is it selection?), and look forward to continuing our work together in the next Presidium.

Better get the show moving if we donā€™t want to lose our chair :stuck_out_tongue:

I donā€™t think you @-mentioned BlockBuster enough.

I completely agree! I didnā€™t have enough Whereasā€™ to think of!

Should we get this up and over with, by pushing this to the voting stage?

No? A (better) resolution has to be drafted and then debated on for a minimum of 3 days.

Alrighty then

I would prefer this version, seeing as it reflects the Chairā€™s desire for a shorter term.

The date I put in my resolution was the one the chair noted. If the chair prefers a shorter term then thatā€™s fine.

Ouchie! Whatā€™s so bad about it?

Hard pass!!!

On a more serious note, I just prefer a much more concise, shorter resolution for this kind of thing.

Iā€™ll refer you to the Chairā€™s ā€œcampaignā€ post:

Cake will always be superior! You guys clearly donā€™t see that!

@ProfessorHenn I support this version of the resolution, as the Chair wants a shorter term.
(@UnitedDisneyStates Ice Cream)

I agree with Professor Hennā€™s proposal for a shorter term like everyone else is saying and that is what the chair requested.

(@ThePRSM Ice Cream nope.) (Cake will continue to be superior when Griff is around)

Ice Cream Cake, take it or leave it

Ice Cream in my opinion isnā€™t the greatest. But for the sake of peace and to not clog this thread with useless unneeded posts I will accept.
